I’m not sure Jones is a lost cause

He apparently has the athleticism but did not play a lot in college

He might take another year or two

He will certainly be on the roster next season

    Troy well we will see

Unless a gift falls to them I do not see a OT drafted above the 4 th round

    Center seems set

    Maybe a guard

Otherwise DL is high maybe CB

i’ll blame them on the coach Meyer selection, Moore and Kendrick Green selections, and the Daniels decision also.

looks like they got the Frazier decision right. But in general - not good.

Remember though that Dante Scarnecchia was with Belichick during that Dynastic run. Scar is widely reputed as one of the greatest Offensive Line Coaches of all time. For that matter, he is a carry over for Bill as he came before Bill ever was the Head Coach; his first stint with New England being from 1982 to 1988 and coming back in 1991. A funny story about him?!

He didnt become an Offensive Line Coach for New England until 1999. Why is this odd?! His first forray into coaching was on the Offensive Line in 1970 at California Western.

Now, as for Mike Shanahan?! Two words; John Elway. Dude was pretty damn good.

    There in lies the problem.

Very few of those types of people exist. College Football really doesnt allow Offensive Line Coaches to properly teach the big men how to play the position. That said, men like Kyle Flood from Texas, Stacey Searles from Georgia or even Brad Davis from LSU is where I'd start my search. As far as NFL goes?!

Good luck with that. Bill Callahan (father of Brian Callahan), Jeff Stoutland (another legendary figure in NFL History), Aaron Kromer of the Bills and Mike Munchak of the Broncos are, more or less, the best of the best. As far as ones on the upswing?!

Hank Fraley of the Lions and Chris Kuper of the Vikings are the only two whom I can name at the moment.

Long story short?! Gonna have to head to the College Level to nab one.

I think they go OL in the top 3 rounds. We need a guard and they can’t possibly feel good about the tackle situation.

I’m sure they will give Jones another year but he has bust written all over him. Guy seems soft and he was clearly mishandled by the coaching staff being flipped around to RT.

I hope so, before the young OL confidence is shot and they're unrecoverable, save for a change of scenery.

Fingers crossed Tomlin moves on, or GM forces the deal after season-ending analysis of what went right and what needs fixed. It should be a great, big DUH, but who knows.

He's very young and inexperienced and they've played him out of position, another guy mis-handled, but after a good start early last season, and the injury after he just looks awful now.

Tomlin has a contract through 2027 and he will be here

Someone thought ARII might retire about that time

See I expect just the opposite and they will stick with the current OT’s

Now guard and DL are options

Yes sign russ so we can be 8-9 next year! He holds the ball way to long! I don't care if you got the best o-line in the NFL. You can't hold it that long! There is a reason broncos let him walk! If he starts next year I'm not watching are going to any games! I will take fields over him! Fields was 4-2 that's not bad!!!

He is projected to start in 2025. Because of the name sake he will be go in the first 5 or 10 picks if not #1. So a major trade up will have to be on the docket due to the fact the Steelers always pick in the 20's.

The line is getting younger and three have already have been in the battle. Fuatanu will add the that. Personally I am concerned about Broderick Jones ability to excel at the Left tackle position. Of course he has been playing out of his natural position. But as you stated and I believe they need to upgrade the O line Coordinator position. I just don't see it happening.

I would be fine with Fields as a backup and developmental project, but would pass as a starter.

Of the six games Fields started, four of them had 150 passing yards or less. He is an incredible athlete but needs to develop as a passer.

There isn’t much in terms of free agents this coming year and the draft is pretty light too. Wilson will be a stop gap for a year or two.

Fields as are quarterback. Beat both the chargers and the broncos! Both possible playoff teams! He might only thrown for 150 yards but he did not turn the ball over! Russ throws into triple coverage and gets picked! Russ was a great QB at one time in Seattle! He is very average to below average now! I say sign fields! Let russ walk!!!

I think that they recognize the problem an hour giving attention to the o-line. But as it is still struggling even with the addition of better talent, you have to ask "then where is the problem? ". Coaching is the only other component that can explain it.

They were winning ugly with Fields but he was showing improvement and thats all you can ask for. I’d like to see if they can continue to develop him. It’s about the future for me now, they aren’t winning the SB so see what Fields can do in the playoffs.

I would stick with Wilson to the bitter end this season. Fields needs work in his passing, it would be ugly if we threw him out there now. Im not a big Fields fan, i haven't seen any indication that he can develop as a passer. Maybe resign Wilson and get one more good year out of him or go for broke and sign Darnold, i guess it depends on what the other offers are
