Russell Wilson led NFL in check down rate over the past two seasons

I watched the entire interview and thought that both Wilson and Fields spoke well. They said the right words and seemed to articulate things pretty well without a lot of searching for what to say. That points to intelligence and being comfortable in the spot. Fields also navigated the questions pretty well without saying he is going to be the #1 without saying he would be the #1. He basically said that he is coming for the job.

One odd thing I did notice was that the right side of Wilson's face acted strange. His smiles mostly came from the left side of his face. When he was talking, the left side of his face and lips seemed more expressive than the right. Does anyone know if this is just the way he has always been? It makes me wonder if he did something like botox and it caused some muscle issues in the face area. I have also seen this on people that have had a stroke, but can't believe he could have had one with nobody knowing. Not trying to nitpick on him, but it popped out at me when I was watching the video and I thought that it was very unusual.

I did go back and pull up an old Wilson post game interview with Seattle and the right side of his face was much more expressive in that.

 

It’s A Message Board. People are going to have differing opinions. It would bore me to death and be counter productive if we all agreed on everything.

Now, I would like to bring up in watching the OTAs Russel looks small.

 

Once again for the millionth time, Wilson is no where near that same qb. Seattle raped Denver of draft picks for a bum. Yet, somehow we are winners getting a qb that will play like he did 10 years ago?
Also, you or I might be an upgrade from our qbs of last year.

 

Steelers fans need to focus on the investment and result in the end. Steelers have a starting Quarterback who is making a million dollars. If he’s check down Charlie with 26 TDs and 10 ints during the year, that is a massive win.

Steelers aren’t winning a Super Bowl either way. Justin Fields is some security but he isn’t a starting QB in the NFL, unfortunately.

The hope would be to let Tomlin play out his contract and go a different way next year, but that’s not likely to happen either.

Steelers are stuck in purgatory right now. I don’t know when they will get out of it as long as Tomlin is the coach.

 

What bothers me the most about Fields is not that he’s a turn over machine, he is that, but even worse is he has the uncanny knack of turning it over at the worst of times.

 

If this was 5 years ago R. Wilson.....I'd be ecstatic, but it's not. Although I personally believe He may have a few good years left in Him. I've said before....all My wishes as a Steeler fan are on Him.

 

Fields is the type of Guy that everyone that has played sports of any kind has seen....with all the natural talent in practices....He will look like a monster.....drag him into the fire, and wilt , and disappear, and Your left wondering.....where is that guy from the practices.

 

I agree with everything You are saying, but You seem to leave out .....every time.....that Wilson was freaking horrible the year before without S. Payton ....., and no matter how bad they may have disliked each other.....Wilson looked way better under Payton than He did the year before.

 

His fourth-quarter numbers suck. They replaced a guy who took care of the ball and played his best with the game on the line with Fields, who doesn't take care of the ball and wilts with the game on the line. Oops.

 

Yeah there’s no doubt he’s DYNAMIC running all over da place and making something happen. But I expect more from my passers, I actually expect them to be able to pass…….consistently.

Watch him run…wow! Draw up some plays where he does so. But depending on him in crucial downs and quarters is a disaster waiting to happen.

 

I guess some folks think he can make the same leap in year four that Jalen Hurts had in year three, but his numbers don't suggest that is coming and he has one more year of evidence that he is a below-average passer.

 

With bad receivers and a bad Oline. Gee, wonder why.
