I should have used a better phrase. I was thinking of throwing the ball more often (letting it fly). Take a chance, try to thread the needle, etc. My bad

I will say that Wilson is smarter in his throws than Ben, might be because of Ben's gunslinger menality or Wilson's knowing his defense would get him the ball back and so he is less of a risk taker
Maybe both. I'm interested to see how his numbers look the next few years with out the Legion of Boom.

Wilson has taken 180 sacks in 4 years, compared to 85 for Ben. That's one area Wilson should probably adjust his game, as it really clobbers his adjusted yards per attempt.

Wilson also fumbled 19 more times than Ben the last 4 years, which almost makes them even for turnovers. (Ben has 3 more over 4 seasons.)

Interesting debate. The fact that a so-called NFL expert has put either of them in the all-time top 20 QBs is a bit surprising to me. I’ve always thought of Ben as a top 5-ish current-day QB throughout much of his career, but never considered him as being a true all-time great.

Better overall career? Ben. Who is better right now? Wilson. Let's look at the past 5 years where Ben had a better O-line with better receivers and RB.

    Wilson average:

    3829 yards, 29 td's 9int, 100 rating

    Ben average:

    4418 yards, 29 td's 13 int, 96 rating.

    both are pretty good

    Ben throws a prettier spiral.

Into the arms of the opposition CB

Edit: a somewhat snarky comment, but "he throws a prettier spiral" is the argument that gets used to support a favorite QB when statistical and win/loss evidence isn't good enough.

But Russell doesn't stand in there and take the hits. He will be over rated as is Franco harris. Everyone knows the true greats have to look for contact to be worthy. Show your manhood russell. :smiley1::cool:

I agree! Ben is way better in my opinion. Wilson is good but he’s a product of that great defense they had. Ben has had great defenses as well but not in the last 5-6 years and he still puts up big numbers. Wilson is good and Ben is great. Wilson has more proving time but it’s Ben right now for sure!
