I appreciate this thread very much. It allows me to adjust my VPN so I can watch the steelers every week.

Chugging down a six pack of Great Value Pilsners and munching on some Old Roy Puppy Chow with a couple greeters. Now that's living in the Burbs. :drinks::dancing:

I only go in a Walmart during off hours. Amazing the amount of people in there at all hours of the night.

I’ll grumble here. Walmart was open because they sold groceries which was essential. But they kept selling everything else while the equivalent mom and pop stores were closed. That just ain’t not right.

Glad I get the Steelers and on FOX I get the Giants/Cowboys. Hope G-men can win that game and then the eagles beat the Football Team. 6-10 division winner:)

Walmart scares me. I have to get in the right frame of mind to go in. They do have cheaper prices on things we use and they get the best artichokes around (my fav food) but they try and force you to use self check-out. I'm a cash guy and can't use it in the self check-out. My Walmart has only 2 lines open for cash people and they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo long and slow. Got artichokes for the game today and was 38 minutes in the line.

I’m old, stubborn, and set in my ways, and even I don’t use cash. I put every penny on an airline credit card. I wind up with at least 2 free tickets a year. Then it makes me go somewhere new.

I do like artichokes. But mostly it’s an excuse to eat butter.

The next game(s) should all be on national TV.

Next year I’m going to retire for the 4th, and hopefully last, time. I’ll have no idea what day of the week it is.

If you would be kind enough to carry this torch going forward, we board members will be indebted to you.

You can list me as “emeritus”.

That day of week thing takes time. I've been retired 11 years and about 2 years ago I lost those feelings you get that tell you what day it is.

Not good or bad but strange as hell. I love on the golf course when us retire guys argue over what day it is.

Best of luck with that retirement thing my friend, wishing you well in the golden (and black) years. I could have retired 10 years ago but my self-employment since age 36 has been the next best thing to retirement for over 3 decades getting to watch all my kids (and now grand kids) school and sport activities and working at home office till the sun comes up. So, still at it until they smack me in the face with a shovel (although not sure how that works with cremation). I or someone else will certainly keep your candle burning here with this hump day tradition. You realize though, you can never retire from this MB, that would be sacrilegious and frowned upon. :thumbs up:

Sitting here right now awaiting kickoff looking out front at the snow-covered Whites across the Valley and out the back at the snow packed Sierras. Fortunately I can work from any location provided I have decent internet and a land line. Now with Zoom becoming the norm for all face to face meetings and access to Google Earth/Maps, little or no need to travel anymore, which is a big plus. As far as living in Bishop, the cost of living is much higher than the desert but some nice closed eateries (thank goodness for take-out). Otherwise, it's small town living and service is slow all around. But, it's the backdrop and outdoor amenities that makes the area and that's what I'm loving (second to Lisa of course). :thumbs up:
