Good passing. no turnovers, escape pressure when possible, avoid sacks, get rid of ball when appropriate, show confidence.

IMHO, Mason can do himself well today by playing well, matriculating the offense down the field leading to touchdowns. Obviously throwing more touchdowns than interceptions will help too.

How will this help? Probably nothing for next year. Ben and Mason will both be here, doubt they draft QB, lest they look to replace Dobbs with a 4th or 5th round pick.

Playing well may give the Steelers incentive to sign Mason to a second contract. Playing like he did the last time versus the Browns and they will not.

A second contract doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the starter after Ben. They’ll either draft someone else or try to bring someone with experience in. A healthy competition can’t hurt.

I also do t think the Steelers will over pay for Mason’s second contract. Maybe another team will.

He’s got to go into the kitchen and make some plays that keep the defensive from putting 9-10 guys within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. If he cannot get them to back up, he will not have an acceptable outing.

I wasn’t a fan of Rudolph but that was a very solid performance. Think he cemented his job as the backup.
