Oh boy. I’ve been thinking that they are going to roll with Rudolph while A)drafting a QB to groom behind him for a year or B) as a stopgap until next years QB class.

It’s the pace of his decision making that concerns me.

He will be the QB next season. IMO he'll keep Tomlin's record intact.

I think they will start the season with Rudolph, he will get hurt by game 4, and a rookie will take over.

I'm waiting for the French judges to rate his ball positioning. If they deduct half a point for carrying the ball like "PrimeTime" it may push him off the medal podium.

I would like to see him beat out somebody that was not on the roster last year.

It will be a major disappointment/mistake if the Steelers go into Camp with Mason, Haskins, Dobbs and an undrafted free agent this year.

I see them bringing in either a FA vet or drafting someone.

I also see 3/4 of the people on this board not liking whoever it is.

I said earlier that He had half of what Burrows rushed for all year in one game, and a Quarter, and a Quarter of what Mahomes did.
I actually think they should give Him a chance where everything is designed for Him, or Haskins if He beats him out. If they suck....Well we won't have 2 move up 2 draft a Qb next year. Problem solved.

Sounds like that's barely a passing grade. OH YEAH, it's a TIE.
How about his footwork? Is that getting any better?

If You go back and look His foot work was better this year than before. Of course We only got 2 see about a Game, and a Quarter...So...

I think we've seen enough of Rudolph to know what he is. Barely competent. I'm hoping they don't reach for a QB in the draft. I'm not sure what free agent veterans are out there but maybe you bring one of those guys in. Then again maybe Rudolph surprises all of us.

I still can't believe after all his playing time in HS, college
and the pro's that his footwork is this terrible. His pocket presence is terrible
his decision making is not there. How has someone not worked with him. hell, if I
can see it why couldn't his QB coaches not see this??????

The problem is the Steelers will likely win around 8 or 9 games again. They will need to give up a ton to move up to the first two picks which is the only way they’d be guaranteed to get one of those so called can’t miss QB’s next year. That’s assuming they give up a better package then everyone else that will be looking for a QB.

This whole waiting for the better QB class is ludicrous. You pass on a QB this year because the super scouts here don’t like them and then the draft board doesn’t break for them next season to grab one and now you are two years into your new QB search without ever even selecting one. You just put yourself 3 years behind the 8 ball or about the same amount of time if one of the QB’s they select this year doesn’t pan out.

Get the ball rolling asap and stop trying to predict the future.

Problem is it's not just the so called super scouts that are saying this is the weakest Qb class in awhile. If it was You may could over look it.

That's not going to happen, they will sign a veteran QB, or draft one.

Mobile enough. Just work on other parts this draft, roll with what we have. If we bomb just one season, fine by me, sets us up for next year. I hope we don't reach or give up too much for something this year. I don't want to panic like other teams and draft a new savior every year out of desperation.

What is Rooney supposed to say here? Rudolph is the only QB on the roster right now and is probably going to have to play a bit in 2022, what does Rooney achieve by criticising him at this stage?

They will draft somebody or they will add a Trubisky / Mariota/ Winston in free agency and there will be a competition in camp. I don’t think anybody believes that they will head in to the season with Mason as the clear #1, not even Mason

Mobile enough just to hopefully get us to about 9 wins. Probably 5 of them against NFC teams. And thanks mostly to the Defense.

I’d take Winston, Trubisky, or hope Corral or Pickett fall in our laps somehow. Rudolph is not the guy.
Super Scouts :lolol:. Agree that the ball needs to get rolling. I’m not a super scout so don’t know whether to draft, get a QB in FA, whatever. Do something.

Bring in Trubisky (won't cost much and no picks given up. And can run which some are so enamored with). He will beat out Mason, they let Haskins go and have Dobbs the #3.

Then you fill in the blanks via the draft and with Free Agents.

I don't see a QB in this years draft at this point let alone trade up for. They can wait till next year. Lets build the foundation back up first.

Really? What I've heard is talking heads speaking positively about one guy or another, but most supporting the idea that this is a weak or light year for quarterbacks.

You keep acting as if it is just the posters here saying that. It isn't. I get it. You have fallen in love with Willis. You are ignoring his inconsistency as a passer, even against low-level competition, and his inaccuracy because he is athletic. That is guiding your approach to this discussion.
