Hitting the QB too hard while wearing a Steelers jersey.

    Check that...

Hitting the QB at all while wearing a Steelers jersey.

He got jobbed. He won't be fined, it was legal. It's crap the penalty ultimately resulted in a TD.

They need to make that a reviewable call. Absolute joke!

I was actually coming on to ask the same thing.

As much as the scoreline was close, we were done on that penalty, and done on the missed holding call later.

Sacking the QB will now be a 15 yd penalty after the next owners meeting. Shame the way this crap is going.

In all seriousness - was it leading with the helmet? Or what? I had the sound down at that point.

That was an awful call. I understand the NFL is trying to protect their asses, but some of this stuff is nuts. It should also be said that the owners are trying to protect their investments.

It was a clean legal hit.

With that said, they are calling that on every team, not just us. It makes no sense. Change the rule or call it correctly.

    True.

(Though we do have a certain amount invested in Worilds as well...)

It will be interesting to see how the league responds later in the week. Like I say, for me, two blown calls let Atlanta score twice.

The penalty was legit. Under NFL rules, worilds should have tapped the QB on the shoulder (softly, of course) and say "excuse me" before sacking him.

An absolute travesty of a call. This makes you dislike the NFL.

The only way I can figure it is an overreaction to seeing Ryan's helmet bounce against the turf. Still a clean hit.

Throw flag, figure out if it was a penalty later. Thanks, Big Rog.

    Bad call.

I thought it was very excellent camerawork, however, that they showed Ben's reaction on the sidelines. You could almost tell he was saying something to the effect of "They'd never call that for me..."

    Absolute joke.

Its calls like that make me strictly a Steelers fan and no longer an NFL fan. I would usually be on my couch tonight continuing to watch football but that just isn't the case. The game has changed for the worse. I sympathize with player safety and all but the game just isn't what it use to be and referees play too big of a role in determining the outcome.

Just saw the hit, as I only follow games in the MB Gameday thread because of BS calls just like that. Man, what a frkn joke...one day a team is going to lose the SB due to one of those calls.

May be to our benefit, if we want to resign him...less stats = less money. I know he's not tearing it up, but he plays the most snaps on defense and I'm not sure we can afford to lose an OLB next year, especially with JJ flopping each week.

I'm telling you we should just start shoving QBs as hard as we could ,you would probably cause more injuries from the whiplash and lord knows how far those guys would fly before crashing to the turf. I wonder what the league would say about that...

I was thinking that today, especially since Silverback will retire for good. Is it possible he will be affordable after this year?
