Roughing the passer on Vick

It was very similar to the Harrison-McCoy hit. Vick was scarmbling, ran right towards a defender and threw a pass right before he took a shot.

 

Jet penalty Vs. Vick, Helmet to Helmet?

Anyone else see this play. I contend that Vick put himself entirely in that position and the defender for the Jets could really do nothing. I mean Vick was running (and he is damn fast), he jumped toward the defender like he was going to jump pass and then ducked down into the defender, who could really not do anything else. Bam, flag on the defender. This ruins the game IMO. That should not be a foul against the defender. Gotta be something like in BBall like a charging call vice a blocking call.

The DB are already hamper to extremes. They might as well make a rull that you cannot rush the passer and if the passer breaks out for a rum, you cannot hit him until he passes the LOS. :godell:
