With all the injuries that went down not just today but all season, when will they increase the rosters up from 53? Right now with the salary cap there is no way to really develop a deep team. You are either loaded on defense or offense in terms of talent and the other side of the ball you hope can get by with either late round draft picks, rookie contracts and lower tier free agents. If I was an owner and had a good to very good roster I would not want my playoffs to rest on one or two players. It seems there is no way to develop a second team so you can potentially lessen the effect of a bad injury.

I am not saying to get rid of the salary cap all together but look at a way to work it so teams can actually build depth and allow players to develop. Now it seems guys either develop way too late and either play themselves into a big contract somewhere else because of a big last year or by the time the light comes on they are onto a second or even third team.

I agree, it's time to increase the active roster to at least 55 and also the practice squad by a few. Practice squad also needs to be better protected from poaching. I know the union wouldn't like that but it's best for the sport.
