Tomlin inferred something like along the lines that they are going to out and and look under rocks for olinemen that can play.

Any moves should happen today if they were serious.....They fly to London in a few days...get the new guy/guys into the locker room and give them this week, the bye week, and the week leading up to week 6 to learn the Off.

Thats basically 19 days to get them up to speed and active vs the Jets.

While I don't expect to see anything drastic at the top...I would totally shuffle the bottom of the roster

OUT GUY WHIMPER - IN REID FRAGEL from Bengals PS Athletic RT and former TE

OUT GARVIN or CARTER - IN DONTAY MOCH from Cardinals PS Fast 3-4 LB that would be ST and maybe situational speed rusher from the get go

OUT REDMAN - IN CHRIS RAINEY....Bell and Dwyer and Jones are the RB's Redman is a shell of his former self...not sure why....but he is.....this team is slow...Rainey just ran a 4.29 for the Chiefs....I am not saying he is the answer..by any means...but the Steelers need some more speed

OUT PALMER - IN REGGIE DUNN....With Heath back..no need for a 4th TE....Dunn is more needed speed.

I'm starting to think you want Reggie Dunn and Reid Fragel on this team. :hmmm: :lolol: Seriously though, why the blank is Guy Whimper still on this team?

On a related topic, starting today the waiver priority changes and the Steelers will likely get the 3-5 spot.

While he's at it, maybe Colbert can remove himself too and bring in a GM who can evaluate talent and not hold onto to vets (like Foote) who play okay but can be replaced with much cheaper players who play just as well if not better.

Minnesota is in need of a WR. Package a deal with Sanders and get Loadholt and give them our 2nd round pick.

I'd take Fragel, he has upside and mobility 2 things Whimper doesn't.
I'd take Moch, again upside as a defender (situational speed rusher) and probably a wash in ST's
I'd take Dunn, speed speed speed more capable of winning a game than anyone else at the back of the roster
I'd pass on Rainey, I've already replaced him with Dunn and the baggage he carries isn't worth it IMO

IMO, the Steelers are going one more game or potential loss from starting to blow this thing up. Ideally, the team looks even worse on Sunday if you want it blown up, because the FO won't make changes if they somehow win this coming week.

    Things to consider:

    Oline...what a mess
    TE...we need a #2
    WR...we need a #2 and a #3 to step up
RB...someone who can run AND hold onto the ball at the same time
QB...he must do a better job at holding onto the ball

Dline....probably one of the few positions I have no problems with
OLB...you guys got to get more pressure
ILB....Williams has made some mistakes, but overall there is potential there
CB...we need depth as losing 1 guy really hurts us. Allen must get back. Gay has been okay, but we really need that 4th guy so we aren't playing 2 CBs and 4 safeties in the dime package.
S...Clark has to be better. He is not doing the job in the tackle department.

Whimper is on this team because Tomlin likes him. He was singing his praises on the Mike Tomlin Show a few weeks ago. Of course this was the last week of the preseason but I'm assuming since he's still here Tomlin must think he's worth a shot. I could ask that same question about MOST of our linemen though! LOL!

As far as WR goes I say we need a #1.

I'm good with all those moves but Rainey, don't see anyway they bring him back, especially seeing how they went out of their way to draft squeaky clean players this year.

Brown performed like a #1 on Sunday. Now if you mean a Boldin type receiver, that's different but AB earned a #1 label Sunday, at least for another week anyway.

Well when I say a "#1" I'm meaning a guy that teams feel a special need to absolutely know where he is at all times to help take some heat off Ben and open up the field a little more for the other guys. I just don't think any of our guys really do that. Now IF Ben could connect on some of those deep throws that might be a different story though ya know?

Maybe Moye will by that guy or J Brown some day. Speaking of Moye, if he's inactive Sunday so help me God :noose:

Because there haven't been any. Unless you could releasing a guy off IR a big move.

Cannot see the Steelers bringing back a guy that put on a bus out of town.

No way Rainey makes it back

What are the chances that if Embernate wasn't hurt, that he's have gotten a hat this year?

Yeah that was one of Tomlin's dumbest moves ever. I really think it's pretty obvious that they don't care if Ben has his "tall receiver" because if they did he would be in the lineup more consistently and getting looks. I mean he's a fade pattern waiting to happen if we could get to the red zone without throwing a pick or fumbling. IF! Only IF!

I think he definitely would have and think he's the type of attitude missing from this line.

I would like to say yes, but with some of the moves this coaching staff has made (Moye & Dwyer come quickly to mind), who really knows.

No on Rainey, yes on Dunn. DJ needs to go before Paulson though.

Palmer needs to go...not DJ or Paulson....he is serving no purpose at this point. DJ and Paulson are fine for now.
