I don't know, I feel like I watched and heard things differently. Yes, the loss sucks and a lot of mistakes were made, no doubt. I saw one and maybe two of those picks being totally on Ben.

2 were tipped and the ball bounces that way sometimes, but blame is hard to attach at that point.
1 the LB came screaming in with or RB missing the pick-up block and hit Ben just as he was getting the ball off.
1 came because his arm was hit by a bull-rushing defender that Villanova couldn't stop.
    - Ben throw straight to the defender without a receiver around.
    - Ben threw a very high ball to a short AB and triple coverage.

Live with Ben and die with him. He's always good for 1 to 2 bad picks a game and 2 or 3 of these games a season. The notes on him were always that he wasn't a big film room dude and he's conditioning has always been suspect. All that and we've always been in it with him deep into the playoffs. I even agree Brady has more desire...

When he spoke about "maybe I don't have it anymore" it seemed like more of ownership of the days negative events and with some hyperbole. It was a mea culpa interview with the reporters and I liked his tone. He took it all like a man.

The other knock on Ben is that he has a flare for capturing attention. Supposedly overstating past injuries ( I never bought into that) and then saying he coming to an end. He's drawing attention to himself.

I've been saying the offense was overrated since last year before the playoffs. In the playoffs, the offense had one good half vs. the Dolphins and then was held to FGs vs. Chiefs and totally shut down vs. the Patriots.

I kept saying the window was 2014-16. The window has shut. Steelers blew too many opportunities during those years to bring home #7, by losing to inferior teams and not achieving at least a #2 seed in the playoffs. It's gonna be a long time before Steelers even make it to another Super Bowl, in my opinion. I may be in my 60's by the time it happens again.

No... I'll be 45 next month. It may take that long to get another franchise QB. Look at the Bills, Dolphins, 49ers, Browns, etc.

Agree window has closed, and could be a long time coming, and for those in their 60's it may not see it happen. It took what 20 some years between Bradshaw and Ben.

The Steelers have had only 1 decisive victory in the past 5 games and it was vs. the Ravens. Vikings would have won with Bradford at QB. Browns game was too close for comfort going against a rookie QB. The offense and defense are overrated, big time. I think we're gonna see a playoff drought for a few years which may be a good thing, in order to get some good draft picks. The Steelers need a QB, CB that can play man coverage and better FS and SS. Some bad seasons may provide the Steelers with what they need. Last time the Steelers had a losing season, they drafted at #11 and got Roethlisberger. It's time.

Based on what I've seen I doubt that they will win at KC, this is the chiefs revenge game for those two losses they had against us last year and they were murdered by their fans and the press for losing that playoff game, they want this game more than any of the other 5 they have already played, it will take a miracle for the steelers to win this time in KC we are not mentally prepared to get it done sunday, sorry but thats just the way I see it..............

Other Teams watch film and our offense is so predictable they place player in the correct spot every time we line up on the ball sorry to say but Haley has to go.

Jesse James just gave an interview to Pro Football Talk saying what every defense we play already knows; we run crossing routes. Shut it down and we lose. Thanks, Todd.

Kind of makes me sad thinking of those poor fans :worried: I don't know if I could survive an 80s Steelers part two :noose: (not that I witnessed the first part)

I started following the Steelers in the 80s, so I think I have a natural affection for that time, even if the records were bad.

There were some bad times, but worth remembering we were in one of the toughest divisions (Oilers and Browns always play off contenders, Bengals had some very good years) and not all of our problems stemmed from the QB position. And we had some good players who made the losing more bearable. Louis Lipps, Hoge, etc.

If Ben were to retire, the team would be in a very different place to the 80s team though.

We loose and this weeks doom and gloom, fire everyone, will be tenfold.

From "Maybe I don't have it anymore" to I'm still one of the Best in the World"...

We shall see how this unfolds this Sunday...Hopefully "One of the Best in the World" shows up.

Ben's play has been below average but the game plans have equal billing. Maybe it's time after the season when he retires to then find a new Offensive coordinator, to start fresh.

And to bench him? That's laughable. He has earned the right to finish the job. And really now, you want Laundry or Dobbs taking over?

If they cant stop the run then they cant win this game, after giving up 230 rushing sunday, I doubt if 3 practices will make them run stuffers this sunday, I would love to see them win, but from what I have seen from them so far this season nothing indicates they can matchup in KC this week, maybe you can tell us how they are going to win because I cant see how they are going to do it....

Agree. I don't see the Steelers D stopping the rookie RB, Hunt. This game will be painful to watch unless the offense suddenly springs to life which I doubt will happen any time soon.

The stretch plays are killing them, contain that and their run defense will be good.

Plus, good Ben shows up finally and theres your victory.

    Discipline among the front seven.
Focus on bland but solid tackling.

    There's your run-defense fix.
