Ah, where’s your sense of humor, jeh? I’m sure (at least I hope) it was done tongue in cheek. A little overboard maybe but was it meant as a joke?

    No joke

Change religion on the spot or the wedding came to an end

He looked in disbelief and just said “sure” then they went on

My relatives out there go to cult like churches

Ok with all that said....now look at who they hired....who does He actually have more ties with... Tomlin, or Rooney??? Before You answer. Go do a good look at his history, but I'm supposed to believe Rooney had no hand in this???
This is not saying He won't be good....this is just saying.....don't think for a minute Rooney had no hand in it.

Lol. You seem to like alluding to things, but want someone else to go look it up for you (past posts, work histories, certain stats, etc.). If you have a specific argument feel free to make it for yourself. I"m aware of Smith's history; in fact I posted his coaching background in another thread earlier today.

But what I said here was simply that Tomlin was allowed to be part of the process, that he wasn't just sitting there waiting for Rooney and Kahn to hand him a card with a few names to pick from. I'm sure he met with the other two and there was collaboration on the direction Tomlin was looking to go with the offense and who might fit that bill. I didn't say there was zero input from Rooney and/or Kahn.

Again, you're making it more difficult than it needs to be.

Rooney literally said that the OC hiring was up to MT and you are still going on about this???

The coaching staff is mainly up to MT

The draft he probably has at least 1/3 of the input I’d argue more like 1/2 along with the GM. I don’t think Rooney is overly involved besides possibly saying a direction he wants to go overall.

MT has alot more pull than you would imagine but I know you are trying to diminish that so that he can escape blame for his playoff failure.

After Tomlin made the selection Rooney certainly had to agree to it and After Omar gets the contract written Rooney will sign it

Yes Rooney is involved in Tomlin’s selection

So Rooney said “MT will be in charge of hiring the OC” but Rooney actually did and MT had no input. So AR is a bald face liar? Cool

    Really

Rooney made a clear concise comment

How in the world are people twisting the simple facts into a conspiracy

    Honestly to me, neither.

And yes, you're making it more difficult. Because your 'simple question' is after-the-fact of both common sense and actual events:

    Exactly.

I tried to Google a connection between Tomlin and Smith or Rooney and Smith and came up with nothing.

As far as the hiring goes, Rooney publicly said that he was leaving that decision up to Tomlin. That is an undeniable fact. Now, I guess a person could argue that Rooney was just trying to publicly look like he's completely backing Tomlin while behind the scenes he really makes the decisions but again, that is pure speculation.

Here is another fact: I can't figure out for the life of me why this is such a hot topic around here. Using common sense, one would think that Tomlin, Rooney, and Khan are all involved at least on some level with a decision of this magnitude. Doesn't seem all that hard to grasp nor important enough to argue over as much as it has been.

I agree with you and it really doesn’t matter. Some people just want to strip him of all responsibility within the organization so that the failure doesn’t come back on him. I mean to some of these guys I really don’t even understand why we have a HC at all. Everything is the players fault for not winning games.

Rooney said the decisions for the OC are on Tomlin...And Tomlin said it was his decision to fire Canada in November...that's all you need to know...
