I often wonder what the rookie status for players is all about They have been playing the same game since high school or earlier, often the exact same position. Sure, at the NFL level the game is faster, the players bigger, and everyone you are playing with and against was the star in HS and college. But the game is the same. So "rookie mistakes" in decisions are excuses for just a dumb play. A 15 year veteran often makes the same mistakes (e.g., throws into triple coverage, fields a punt they shouldn't, runs out of bounds when they should stay in). It is s tough, fast game with split second decisions to be made, but let's not attribute "rookie" status to mistakes made.

Rookies or not, I think Pickett and Pickens are stars. Open up the playbook and let 'em light things up.

I think we did see the playbook opened up against the Bills. There’s not much there. Hopefully, Pickett quickly develops a rapport with his receivers and starts playing sandlot ball

I agree about our two P rookies. Hope they flourish with us. I don't think the game is the same as a player advances from HS to college to the NFL. Different talent levels of the players, size, speed of the game, all make a difference for a little while. I hear people saying that a new players need to have the game slow down for them which I assume means acclimating to the speed they are new to. Faster game means less time to think. Less time to think means mistakes are made as the player aren't used to making them so quickly and how they handled similar situations before won't cut it all the time in their new surroundings all the while running in a new offense/defense. Then there is the possible pressure on them as they are now being paid to do a job and that may add some stress on what they do as well. JMO>
