Okay, for all those on here who want Tomlin gone, Ron Rivera is now available.
"Couldn't be any worse than Popcorn", right?
    Thoughts?

I can't answer right now. I currently have my foot in my mouth on Tomlin and soon may have crow on my plate.

Hmmm..... not too sure why he was fired given his circumstances. The Steelers could likely extend Tomlin again this offseason pending on the results for the conclusion of the 2019 season. Should Tomlin collapse though, I do not think Ron would be the guy.

The Rooney Family has picked their coaches to be in the mid 30s since Chuck Noll. Ron is way past that. Likely would be someone else although who that is remains to be seen.

I was pimping him very early this season. Their defense turned into garbage though & he is a defense coach. Idk.

jimmyallen and I want no part of Ron Rivera or to see him ever again, we both were eliminated from Survivor by picking the 10 points favored at home Carolina Panthers versus the lowly Washington Deadskins.

I have several suggestions for what Ron Rivera can do, coaching my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers is not one of them...

Are we supposed to answer this like when someone gets cut from a team..you know.."hey sign this guy"...they we post yes sign him, sign everyone? Why not wait till the 6-10 other coaches get fired, then we can group 'em together, "yes sign him..sign everyone"..

You know, there are x number of people on here who want to FMTI!!!!!! None ever seem to have a legit replacement in mind, they just want Tomlin gone. Well, here's a proven, SB coach...……….
    I say, no thanks!

My guess is: Next season Rivera will become,

    Eagles D coach.
    or Giants HC
    or Dallas HC

To answer the question posted by the OP, RR wouldn't be any worse that MT (probably have better assistant coaches though) but that is not what I want or would be looking for. I want someone much better. Who, that's for the organization to figure out as they get paid to make those decisions, I don't. I am anticipating another post season watching other teams play and listening to excuses why we are not. Hope I am dead wrong but we'll see soon enough. One week at a time.

Quality coach, not sure of timing of firing. Tepper may need
    to rethink things going forward.

I wanted Rivera when Tomlin was hired.

    Now, not so much.

I’m not looking to replace Tomlin, but Rivera will get another head coaching gig really soon. He went 15-1 and made it to a Super Bowl with Cam Newton at QB. That’s a pretty impressive achievement.

Cam was unbelievable that season up until the SB. Haven't seen him that good since.

This time about 5 months ago... I would have said yes to Rivera. Now that Tomlin has taken a severely injury ravaged team without it's HOF QB to 7-5 and possible playoff berth.... Tomlin > Rivera.

Maybe Ben will come back as player-coach next season. He does look comfortable with a headset and hoodie.
