Steelers Depot is reporting on twitter:
For what it is worth, the report on Ben & that he might sit out final 2 games, seems speculative at best right now. I am not saying he won't, just don't wrap a bow around that report just yet...

I think he should sit- at least for the Rams game.

It's going to take 3 playoff wins, most likely all on the road, to make it to the SB with or without him playing the final 2 games so I guess it makes sense to sit him.

I agree. He, along with Troy, Woodley and Puncey should all sit. Take on the #5 seed with a healthy cast and make it happen. unless it is the 1 or 2 seed, it doesn't matter all that much. And we had our shot at that and blew it. Accept the results and build for Jan 7/8.

he should sit against the Rams, but he has to play against the Browns. he has shown that he is not as accurate when he misses a week and doesnt practice. he needs to get some reps in that final week. atleast a half.

they should also sit Pouncey and Woodley.

I found this part of the article particularly interesting:

"Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians prefers the veteran to Dennis Dixon, but others in the organization believe Dixon's athleticism and improvisational skills make him the more viable starter."

Sounds to me like there are people in the Steelers organization that think Dixon has a similar skill set to Ben: "...athleticism and improvisational skills..."

I believe Dixon should be in if Ben sits. Nothing against Batch, but I think Dixon has incredible potential from what I saw of him, last year, during Ben's suspension.

I wonder why BA doesn't want to play him?

Because his arm and accuracy suck. That would take away all the bombs away plays BA gets off on.

I'd leave him out both games. We only need to win one to secure 5th, and we should be able to do that at the very least with Batch or Dixon.......

you mean like in 08 when he killed the Chargers after having to sit out a game due to a concussion?
(Yes, FWP played nicely too in that game, but it was Ben's passing that killed SD ... his 3rd down play was like Flacco against our D this year ... terrific)

5th is already clinched thanks to the NYJ loss unless i'm terribly mistaken

From the various reports I'm reading, I don't think he'll be sitting the next two games. I guess we'll see soon enough though.

    Right, fifth is locked up.

I think this is what we need...so he will be as close to 100 percent as possible

Play him the first half of both of the reminding games. Sitting him two straight games and then going on the road for our first playoff game (more than likely) will not do him well. He needs to keep the continuity with his receivers.

I never said anything about the success of the bombs away mentality with Ben in there. I am just saying BA would have to concede to the fact that he can't use it with Dixon.

Well being that they pushed our game back then we will know if we have to start them or not.Cincy win then we can take the #2 seed but if ravens win then we should rest him.

Both games were pushed back, so you theory does not hold.
