No it’s actually not.
Did you have a feeling at one point that the steelers were going to the super bowl during the game against the Pats in 2016?
But whatever, 1 AFC title games and 3 playoffs wins in 8 years with the talent that the steelers had it's not very good.
Many coaches have accomplished more with less than Tomlin during this time.
Walking into the stadium was as close as they were gonna get. They had probably a 20% chance of winning that game especially after talking **** going into it. Giving a team like NE extra motivation isn't a great idea, especially at home in a AFCCG. Anyone who thought going in they had a realistic chance of winning ,100% has no idea what they're talking about.
I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I’m definitely not doing the Tomlin thing as it’s been beaten to death.
And whether I had a feeling or not is irrelevant to your statement.
In 2011 we lost in the wild card round. We went further in the playoffs I believe twice since thin. So by definition that’s closer to participating in a Super Bowl.
You may have been going for something else when you posted that, but that’s not what you wrote.
Also should have known it was just an excuse to bash Tomlin.
I was feeling generous. By 20% I meant if they played that game 10 times we may win twice....maybe
AFC championship game in 2016 does not count? No AB & Bell was Tomlin's fault?
They were not close to win this game...
Yeah they got spanked. And I was wrong about no AB. He was out against Denver the year before when we almost lost to the Cheats before Toussiant fumbled away our chances in Denver. But I'm with Glemm here, is about as close as you can get to a SB.
Patriots own the Steelers. 0-1 to start the season. Freakin sad.
Thanks a lot, I had the stomach bug all weekend and was just getting better. Now I have to throw up again!
Will your Chrystal ball give me the winning Mega lottery numbers this week? At least have some optimism, the Steelers are 1 and 0 against the current SB champions. 50/50 at this point, although I won't be putting any money an a Steeler win, lol.
Yeah I mean how much closer can you get to at least participating in a Super Bowl without actually being in it?
ask to the 2018 Saints and Chiefs
Ask them what?
to how much closer(that the 2016 Steelers) can you get to at least participating in a Super Bowl?
I'm thinking you're just trolling at this point.
It's ridiculous, seriously .... I'll write in another way ... the Steelers have never been close to winning an AFC title game since 2011, which Cowher was close at least in 1994 and 1997 and also was close to winning a super bowl against the Cowboys in 1995 before Neil O'Donnell throw another stupid interception when it was 20-17!
I did not think it was hard to understand!...If you think to lose 36-17 is close to go in the super bowl, I do not know what to say!
2015 playoff Steelers were missing some key pieces also. If we had AB & Bell, I think we make the 2015 AFC championship game. Don't get me started on Peyton's slide & get-up when he thought he felt pressure in that game. Even though I think the Cheats send them home in NE for the championship, it's another close run to the SB.
Who was Cowher's Bellicheat? Was there a coach that outclassed all the other coaches during his tenor?
here's your original quote.
We got knocked out in the Wild Card round in 2011. We made it to the AFC Championship in 2016. That would qualify as closer. You set 2011 as the benchmark.
I will say that it was my mistake to explain this badly, since what I wanted to say is that the steelers have never been close to winning an AFC title game in the last 8 years.
The steelers also almost missed the playoffs in 2015 .... Thanks you to the Buffalo Bills!
About time. Now back to your deep seeded tomlin hatred.
Touche. That was also Porter's greatest year as a coach, thanks Cincy. BUT the Steelers took the bull by the horns & almost made another SB. Tomlin had them in the game at Denver.
