I think Ben was always a leader. But when Tomlin kissed ABs ass and created toxic locker rooms for all those years how do you lead that.

Whatever you consider the main cog, it has to have solid parts around it. But in the case of an elite QB, thats the only person who can make a difference on their own.

    Ben is exactly that.

    Hey steelersrule6.

I have never taken Ben for granted. I remember the years between Bradshaw and Ben. Some were good but no consistency. O'Donnell was the closest thing to that and he is nowhere near as talented as Ben. If people do take Ben for granted, look no further than last season's QB performances to be reeled in for a reality check.

    Hey JAD.

Nice "nutshell" summary. Very true. Just look at last season's QBs for a reality check if one doubts Ben or doe not appreciate him.

I guess you forgot about Ben throwing guys under the bus on his radio show, but to you that's Tomlin's fault also .

No, that's just Been calling a spade a spade. Tomlin could learn a lot from that mentality.

Okay, maybe I should have said for a long time. :cool:He has been a solid leader for 10 or 12 years not just recently.

Roethlisberger's QB play as of late is very promising. He is not trying to set the world on fire anymore... like when Wallace and AB were at WR. Judging by the first 4 games...he is taking what the defense will give him and very little of the 3rd short and short with the 40 yard bombs. Ben will have a bad game, though. It's inevitable.

This "new" Ben is going to lull the league into a false sense of security. He's got a 400 yard game or 2 in him this season. If a team shows up discounting Ben and the dink and dunk nature of the offense, they're going to get lit up. This offense is grinding gears so far. They are going to get better as the season goes along.

Yeah and it caused problems, and he ended his radio show, try again. When Ben threw that bonehead int against Denver in the endzone, that was on him but he criticized AB on his radio show, that's not calling a spade a spade .

Ben called out teammates that needed called out. If they can't take it, they should be arranging flowers or something.

This much is true. For that matter, every HOF QB has a bad game; some worse than others. That said, it is as you said, Big Bens bad games probably will be less damaging than his old bad ones.

The first 2017 Matchup against Jacksonville is the most telling bad game for me. I have never seen Big Ben play so horribly either. Five INTs in one game?! Yikes!!

Ben has always been about winning.

    AB was always about AB.

I understand that in today's day and age, you are not allowed to say anything hurtful to anyone, but like Ben, I don't give a **** about political correctness.

Maybe you are for a personal foul for hurting someones feelings by hitting them too hard?

It should be done in person in private.

And until you take responsibility for your own mistakes don’t worry about others. Ben likes to point the blame elsewhere when things go wrong. Takes the credit when things go well. But he doesn’t take responsibility for his mistakes often.

I agree with your first statement but consider the fact that there was a toxic culture of coddling asshats which makes it difficult to have a man-to-man when there is only one "man" in the conversation.

As far as Ben not taking responsibility, I don't see that. However, living over here in the land of dysfunction, I may not see/hear everything you do.

Yeah but that int against Denver in the endzone that was all on him, he shouldn't have blamed AB for running a bad route on his radio show.

How would you know that? The only people who would know that would be the people in the Huddle and quite frankly I would believe the guy who is all about winning as opposed to the guy who had his mind elsewhere more often than not.

Did you see that pass Ben threw? He had no business trying to force the ball to AB, he threw the ball straight to that DT, he should've talked to AB in private not on some radio show.

Again, you have no idea what route AB was supposed to run.

If more people in the organization would have called AB out more often it might not have become such a ****show.

Oh that game...We were actually in Pittsburgh that day
I've heard him countless times take the blame/responsibility. He takes it when it's his fault and when it isn't. He has said, "I have to play better" more times than I can count. And I can count pretty high.
