The volume of those attempts was also very low for Rodgers and this is a issue...I am sure this is worst for the attempts of 10 yards or more for the rankings(in volume and %)

Man, I hope what you lay out here is true.

It's just hard to believe that Rodgers would sign under those conditions. Even in the offseason he has to be the center of attention. Setting the table for others to take his place while still playing with the team just feels unlikely unless he gets injured.

Rodgers would be great in that role if he chose to accept it.

I don't do a whole lot of hand-wringing or subscribe to any subterfuge.
I think it is really simple.
    - It's up to Howard or Allar to be better than Rogers.-
Mike McCarthy has said "best man up"
Though I think Mason is a really long shot, until a trade or release, he has a chance also.

I think this is the mind set. Howard/Allar most likely won't be better than Rodgers/Rudolph right away. But, Rodgers/Rudolph are not the future franchise QBs for this team. That is something everyone already knows. One of Howard/Allar should take that spot for at least 2027. Which one is what we'll find out.

Nothing will be promised or handed to anyone

    As stated best man up

It’s like the balderdash one confused poster here spews about Kenny Pickett being lied to

And his psychosis and lack of meds will push him to get the last word in

    As always

I really hope so. It would be great for a QB to already be on this roster.
I really did not want to go into a scenario where Omar is faced with a QB or bust in 2027. (if the 2027 class turns out to be like 2026, it's slim pickings and we've seen he's not good at navigating those narrow straights.

I think probably how the Steelers are looking at this, despite the praise they heap on Howard is that they see him as a BU and Allar the starter.

Howard is really going to have to outshine Allar to have a shot.

We've had an utterly abysmal offense for the past 4 season, with last year finally showing some signs of hope but without great protection and without enough receiving weapons.
    • We drafted Will Howard last year.
    • We drafted Drew Allar this year.
    • We drafted a WR in the 2nd and signed a free agent WR.
    • We drafted OL in the first to help protection.
    • We have a Hall of fame QB as a mentor while the young guys are hopefully developed. And we now have the coach who's proven to be able to do it.
    • We drafted a Return specialist who could boost special teams.
    • The under-achieving Defense was Tomlin's child. And he's no longer there.
If you can't find anything to be excited about in there, your glass just might be half empty most of the time.

I worry about some old folks here who get confused. I'm wondering who here ever said the Steelers lied to Kenny Pickett. Of course, it is in no way relevant to this thread, but they don't care about that. The obsession with trying to pick fights with posters they don't like does the board no favors at all. They seem to think disagreeing with their slavish devotion to any decision the Steelers make is a sign of mental illness.

I think they would be foolish to go into camp with such a preconceived pecking order, though they might simply because Allar is probably McCarthy's guy.
