I found this video on YT and thought it was pretty interesting. It was actually Brett Favre's first start and a game that Rod Woodson would like to forget. He was burned for two TD passes and fumbled a punt. If we had a MB back then can you imagine the uproar that would have resulted from that pitiful performance? We would have been demanding that Cowher make a change at CB and calling for Woodson's head! LOL!! Just goes to show you that even the Steeler legends had bad games. Forgive the quality. Hope you enjoy.

Good one, Jack. I actually have this entire game on video. We lost. In summary, not a bad game for Foster, ugly game for O'Donnell, and a pretty bad game for most of the secondary. Kind of fun seeing such a young Favre. More fun watching a young Favre getting sacked by Lloyd. :D

In Woodson's defense, Brett burned a LOT of people back then. I LOVE Brett Favre. Probably he is my favorite qb of all time. He just played with so much passion and seemed to never lose that childlike quality of just having fun. My 1st son is named Ben. If I'm blessed with a 2nd my wife has said I could name him Brett. That's not too bad a company to be in I would say. I don't know if any qb in history could throw it as HARD as Brett Favre when he was in his prime. I'd hate to be a WR trying to catch some of those bullets he threw back in the day.

I liked faver until his last 5 or 6 years. He jerked the pack around then did the same to the jets and then the vikes. Wouldn't make me mad at all if he got passed on the HOF. Serve him right.

NO possible way that happens. If you look at it when he played for the Jets he actually did really good. Then he tore something in his shoulder and went downhill. In the offseason he got it fixed and then went to the Vikes and had a GREAT year and went to the NFC Championship. Then he came back that next year and it was obvious that it was time for him to call it a day finally. It's funny for me though because when I think of Favre I don't really think of the Favre of the last few years I think of the Favre that I watched as a kid and just thought that he was so cool. He was like one of those guys that every little kid would've liked to have met. Also his toughness is just one of the most insane things we will ever see. He wasn't like these pretty boy qb's that don't wanna get dirty. I always loved that fact that if he threw a pick he would try and knock the guy out. I also loved the fact that he would jaw with defenders too. I think his war of words with Warren (the) Sapp will go down as one of the great light hearted rivalries.

I remember this game all to well as it was my first NFL game, and only Steeler game, that I attended. Grew up in GB and I was about 12 at the time. Even though we lost it was still a great experience.

How many career Int's did Rod Woodson have, say compared to Ike Taylor?

Please lets not compare superstars(HOF) to AVG players.

The year I joined the Navy. I believe I was in Pensacola at the time, also the last year the Pirates were above .500?

One thing that stands out more now as opposed to when I was watching these games live or at least on TV is how big the shoulder pads on the defensive side of the ball were. I mean look at what Woodson is wearing as well as Lake and Perry and the rest of the DB's and look at what Clark, Troy and Ike are wearing now. Quite a contrast.
