From what I have seen he's not very good, play Dangerfield instead or Davis.

I will never understand why he was covering Gronkowski. A complete mismatch.

Golden stabilized some things last year and early this one... Not an overly affectionate fan of his, but I agree. Try danger field out some more kids been balling and golden hasn't really secured the turn of the corner with the amount of time he's had.

Nor do I understand his alignment on the Gronk coverage.

Though I do believe Mitchell guessed wrong heading to a covered WR instead of helping on the TE route. Been awhile now and I don't have replay

Golden didn't play well last week also against Miami.

I would love to play Davis given his athleitc gifts in addition to being one of the rare safety players who not only possess range but has unusual ankle flexion and hip flexibility.

The issue is that he is still learning the nuances of the position. Until he becomes more acclimated in the basics of playing safety in the NFL, Robert Golden is the de facto choice.

... then again... a more consistent pass rush is one of the reasons why Golden's 1 v. 1 against Gronk is so puzzling.

Is Gronk really that fast, or is Golden just that incredibly slow?

I don't know if he has ever recovered from getting blown up by Cutler. LOL!

Gronks was 4.61.. but the issue is that he blew out his ACL in 2013 and had a knee issue a year ago.

For Robert Golden.. his is 4.51. He has not had a bad injury but rather a string of minor knee injuries.

Both he and that LB that called himself covering J. Edelman all night (I forget his name) are both garbage

Didn't Timmons cover Edelman a lot today? Is that who you're talking about?

Dangerfield can't cover Gronk 1-on-1 either. Shouldn't have been asked to.

The Steelers don't work matchups. It's a major coaching fail.

Shazier was the optimal matchup to Punkowsky.

Had hopes for him, doesn't look like he can do it. Too bad he has been in the system for some time
now. Has had 2 bad games now.

There's track speed and then there's football speed! Gronk beats a lot of players ....

You seriously don't know Timmons name, but you know Edelman?
    That's interesting...

I don't have time these days to watch the all 22 tape, but if anyone does break down the game this week I'd be interested to hear how we made Gronk a non-factor for the first 2 1/2 quarters of the game. Whatever we were doing seemed to be working, and it may have been that Golden was doing an excellent job on Gronk early. None of us know yet, because Gronk was off screen for the vast majority of NE's pass plays. The only exception right now would be people who were at the game.

The bigger question is why is an ILB covering a receiver?

I'd say it was some pressure on Brady. We never got there but we did speed up the throws and since they were quicker Gronk wasn't open down the seam like he was later in the game.

Heck we've had OLBs covering receivers at times.
