How's come nobody is talking about Shamarko
vying for a starting spot? This young man REALLY
needs to be on the field a lot this year. He can
    make things happen.

Totally agree. Sharknado needs some PT. Excited to see what he can do in the preseason.

I just don't think they view him as a FS.

Yeah. And he has had some reps at FS, just not a lot. We all know how much Tomlin loves Will Allen. Shamarko's the clear #2 at SS, and with Troy's injury history, that's significant.

I was at camp wished I could have seen Mitchell, I'm not really impressed with the safeties overall. Troy looks good, but they are limiting his reps. Makes me wonder how much he has left. The other guys don't really stand out too much.

db depth overall is a question mark for me. Maybe Steelers can find another decent vet CB before season starts?

Shark needs to see more playing time
at either position. He can be a game changer,
which is what this team needs. Shazier and
Shark should be playing A LOT! Please Dick
turn them loose, get back to exciting football.

At Camp on Sunday, Golden had 2 beautiful back of the end zone pass break ups, during Red Zone drills, both on A.B. but remember, those 2 passes were thrown by Landry Jones and Bruce G., as Ben got the day off.

Interesting. Maybe they agree with you. First thing that caught my eye was the bushel of DB's in the camp. Maybe I figured a few would step up. But I'm now thinking they are all just ehh? not bad but no real play maker types in the backup bunch. I'm thinking Chris Oldham types for instance that frequently made 3rd down stop plays causing a turnover. Turnover, hey forcing a punt causes a change of possession no? WTheck that's a TO of sorts. Is it not?

But that is what these preseason games are for. Maybe you will spot a few keepers in these games. I remember counting 16 on the depth chart but there are only 15 on this list. Then I remembered Mitchell was out. Is he back?

Pit almost always keeps 6CB and 4S. So counting Mitchell 9 of these guys will make the final 53. I was not particularly thrilled with Golden last year and was thinking maybe they would find an upgrade there. But it doesn't sound like it from these second hand reports. Oh well! He may have improved his game a lot. Me, I am a Shark fan and really hope those positive reports on him are accurate. I would bet they are.

    Hmm! Let's see. 6 CB's.

Ike, Cortez, Gay, then a whole bunch of unknowns [to me] here. Seems to me like a lot of spots up for grabs.

4 S. Troy, Mitchell, Shark, Will Allen or Golden all proven and experienced. Seem better off there since Jordan Richardson is challenging for a spot.

As of now 3 of these 7 will make the team.

LCB Shaq Richardson, Brice McCain, Russ Ventrone RCB Isaiah Green, Antwon Blake, Devin Smith, Lew Toler

Hmm! Now I see why Pit kept 5 S and 5 CB last year. Not the usual 6-4. Very likely they do the same this year.

My first look at all these players other than those here last year will be Saturday. So I have no idea how they will arrive at the final 10. Anyone want to venture an early guess here?
