I miss the USA TODAY sports page. I think i still have a couple from 2005's SB run. I know there is at least one from the Divisional round at Indy.

All I know about rice is, I hate it. When I was 7-9 years old, we were stationed in Taiwan. My brother and I used to walk barefoot through the rice paddies. My mom was NOT happy about that!

I was just a few years older when I was having to do that.
I Love rice, and pasta . I don't eat usually without one, or the other somehow involved.

I actually emailed the sports editor at Tribune Review with my thought

I may wait for his reply before sending him your thought

My mother was Irish and I had potatoes for dinner approximately 6,571 days in a row until I moved out

I gave the front of the sports page for the Pittsburgh paper(s) from each SB plus a couple of World Series and Stanley cups

    Plus the end of WW2

That's too bad. I used to read the Post-Gazette when I lived in Pittsburgh. So does Pittsburgh just not have a paper now or is the Tribune-Review supposed to be Pittsburgh's paper now?

I don't know Bill, but if you go over his head to Rob Amen, tell him I said hello.

USA TODAY is still in circulation. I steal the crossword puzzles out of it at the library for the wife.

I'm a bit surprised they won't even be on line. Our big local paper is the Atlantic City Press. They stopped delivery awhile back and now use the Post Office to deliver it but only 3 times a week.

Really odd a city doesn't have a paper at least a digital version. 240 years down the drain;)

I read the Steelers page. I have purchased a subscription to comment at times. I will miss the awake fans on there.

But when your business has been in the red for decades well eventually all comes crashing down.

Plus I come here for up to the minute Steelers news and witty banter...

Who should I suggest he not hire?...er...I mean hire?

    ;)

Honestly, I was just amused when I saw that Amen is now the managing editor. I knew he was still there, but I hadn't realized that was his title now. At least they have a managing editor who appreciates the value of sports. He started as a sports writer and the Steelers were his beat for a while.

I know a few of the higher-ups there, who weren't so high up when I knew them, but I haven't been in touch with most of those folks for a long time.

My neighbor's dad used to work for them and his son had a paper route back in the 60s and 70s.

Post Gazette website was my go to resource for all things Steelers in the early to mid 00's. When they started charging for access to articles.... I quit, naturally.

Science Fiction will eventually become Scientific reality. We'll have some crazy, wacked-out version of Skynet and The Borg... where AI takes over all computer networks and enslaves what remains of the human race who survives judgment day.
