I am just now hearing about this on TNF. I am usually up to date with NFL news but this season has me checked out for most of it. RIP Franco.

I still remember that Sports Illustrated cover with Jim Brown when he said he would come out of retirement rather than have Franco break his record.....

Shame they will probably be honoring Franco at an empty stadium. We bailed on our tickets early in the season, Christmas Eve, come on man...now with the coldness??

I read Franco wanted to wear 32 because of Jim Brown. It's hard to believe we loss Franco before Brown. who has had health issues for a while. But you don't know what health issues people have that aren't as apparent. I like Browns early acting career which started so well with The Dirty Dozen and Ice Station Zebra, but who was advising him after that. Arnold knew how to put the ex-pros in his movies; Jim as Fireball in The Running Man.

It's still hard to believe Franco passed away in the night, he seemed relatively healthy.

I wonder how much of that was Brown not being a good enough actor to be worth putting up with the off-field/off-camera concerns.

EDIT: Jim Brown was a pathetic excuse for a human being. In other words, everything the Cleveland Browns (and by extension, the Baltimore Ratturds) stand for! Garrett, Watson, Ray Lewis and others are carrying on his legacy.

In 1968 Jim Brown threw a 22 year old girl off of his balcony and onto the pavement below and was charged with attempted murder. While the girl was recovering in the hospital she woke up and found a large brown envelope with $25,000 in it. She then recanted her story and said she tripped and fell over the 4 foot railing around the balcony. All charges against Brown were dropped.
