It may be inaccurate to say, but looking more and more like Goodell just doesn't have a problem with slugging a woman

It doesn't have anything to do with it directly, but this seemed like the place for it. People get annoyed when old threads get bumped, and I didn't want to start a new thread about men beating women when we already have more than anyone would rather have.

So true. I couldn't believe how little attention that got. How many times has he been arrested anyway? Serious question.

    That's cool. :smiley1:

I was truly wondering, because I wasn't entirely sure if there was wording that would make his case fall under this umbrella, if he were to be found guilty of punching that woman, or if video materialized.

I've never really liked the "domestic violence" label in general or when applied to this policy. The policy makes it sound like it's somehow less of a problem if you just up and punch some poor woman on the street over a parking spot.

Why do you applaud the Ravens? There's a decent chance they had seen this video before. And even if they didn't, they should have acted more harshly when this first came to their attention.

This guy is a piece of garbage and should never play again.

I know he was arrested in college at least once. He hit someone over the head with a pool cue. Then again as a pro in a nudey bar fracas.

She did try to hit him with the beer bottle and had already thrown some on him at the time. You don't get a free pass for being a drunk girl anymore.

Hell you apparently don't get the benefit of the doubt if you're an NFL lineman that gets stabbed either.....

Really? She didn't throw anything on him before that. So this is ok with you? So she deserved this even though he was on the outside of the fence and could have done the smart thing and walked away at any time? **edit...it's not letting me imbed the video from my ipad***

What is wrong with you guys and jumping to the "So this is ok with you crap!" I think (nope, pretty sure I did since it's right above this post!), I also said you don't get a pass at being stabbed if you're a drunk NFL lineman. So I guess I'm also ok with a guy getting stabbed because he bumped into someone......

    JEEBUS! Get over yourselves sometime!

When I wrote "this" I was referring specifically to the Pac Man Jones video and not to domestic violence in general. I figured that was clear since I posted the video. I know that no one is okay with domestic violence.

So I ask again, you're okay with this because she was drunk and threw a drink on him?

I do understand that crazy and/or drunk girls can attack a guy and he does have the right to defend himself...but only as a last resort. That is what is so disturbing about the Rice video. It was reported that they had a fight and hit each other. Every Rice apologist said that you don't know what went on in the elevator. I imagined that video would have shown a crazy woman attacking him in an elevator (think Beyonces sister attack Jay-Z http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_6lrpg6kh/) and that Rice was defending himself. But that wasn't the case. She was savagely attacked and beaten.

And thats clearly not the case with Pac Man either. He's on the outside of the fence and free to leave and walk away EVEN AFTER she assaults him with the drink. He chose to hit her. To me there is no difference between what Rice did and what Pac Man does in this video. Hopefully in this **** storm it will be revisited.

OK, while I don't agree with him hitting her in that video. Yeas, he should have calmed himself down and walked away from the girl that came to him and escalated the confrontation to a physical nature. Let's look at what happens when a man dumps a drink on another man. Normally a fight ensues, which is why most men don't do that unless they've gotten to the fighting point. He had his day in court for it as well. http://www.tmz.com/2013/10/08/adam-pacman-jones-not-guilty-hitting-woman-nightclub-ohio/

There's no way to determine when she was actually knocked out by the video that we see. Also, if you look at it, the force of his hit drove her into the rail, it was not her falling.

Yeah. I'm calling :bscow: on that. Just another attempt to downplay or mitigate the seriousness of what he did.

That was a knockout punch. Even if she was a guy, that was a knockout punch. Did the punch actually knock her out? We'll never know for sure, but it's a pretty good bet. Her hitting her head on the railing was just adding insult to injury (and obviously didn't help matters). EITHER WAY, he cold cocked her with everything he had, snapping her head into said railing.

But that's not the worst of it.

Even if we ignore how he laid in wait for her to spit in her face COMPLETELY unprovoked before boarding the elevator... Even if we ignore the SECOND spit and slap to her face, there's still something I haven't seen anyone mention and it's galling me:

He had ZERO regard for her health or safety following the knockout. None. He stood over her as nonchalantly as you please. As if this was nothing new, or nothing to be concerned about. He only lifted/dragged her limp body to get her off the elevator. No attempt to make sure she was breathing. No attempt to revive her. No show of remorse, or concern for any serious injury. Anyone with even 2 brain cells to rub together would know NOT to even try to move her after a blow like that. Not this neanderthal. He flopped her around like a sack of potatoes.

A second person enters the scene once partially out of the elevator. Does he show any concern even then? NOPE. Just stands around like "whatever."

Sweetie. I saw your post. I know what love is. He does NOT love you. RUN.

Then he blatantly lies to the league (she never attacked him unless you think that getting up in someone's face AFTER they spit on you twice and slap you is "attacking"). Worse, he pressures her into lying for him.

I'm all for giving a guy a second chance. But only IF he had remorse. This guy is a sociopath and should be locked away. I'll boycott the league if they ever allow him to play again.

    I'm not kidding.
