REX RYAN IS THINKING ABOUT US:

Posted on from around the league: Rex Ryan the stand up comedian, so he thinks... Ryan said he met with Kerley and asked if he'd come down "with the Pittsburgh flu," a sickness the coach claims to have witnessed in other NFL players before games against the physical Steelers defense.

Ryan is clearly hell-bent on beating Pittsburgh, who kept the Jets out of the Super Bowl with an AFC Championship win over New York in 2010. Ryan talked about the heavy spread of 30-something defenders in Pittsburgh as a positive, saying that experience prevents mistakes on the field (and apparently causes sickness in Florham Park).

 

And Ryan is going to come off the bus blitzing, so we will see how many Olinemen tap out this week, my only other concern, is our swiss cheese secondary...

 

And someone refer to me as saying "you believe we will have 4 major oline injuries in one game"

Heck we had 2 last week. Im not saying the injuries aren't legit but someone has to man up on the oline.

I said we need 9 olineman on the active roster...maybe that's a stretch but at least 8.

 

After watching this game for the 3rd. time ,I have reached the conclusion that our OL needs some cage work.....Not sure if it was the Air or what ,but our first step was Up not Out most of the time,,,as a result we where to high and almost everyone knows that the Low Man almost always wins....

A nice simple drill we have run for years when guys are playing high is to stick them in a cage without their Helments....A few stations of that each practice and they will fire out Low and Hard and stay low....

There was no movement up front in the run game and my take is beause our Guys simply played to high almost the entire game.....

As stated above the Jets are goibg to blitz like crazy ...If they don't blitz they will drop 7 and wait for the front 4 to get home,,,,we must attack both of these with the run game and play calling.....I think we wil see a different style of O this week......I think we watched a style last week that was better suited for the WR'S and Ben.....The WR'S let us down they had to many key drops....Ben played well.but he missed some wide open stuff that could have changed the game....

I can't unserstand why we left our Bread and Butter plays in the pre season,,,we had some big plays with our first units and for some odd reason we went a totally diffferent direction last week....I expect to see the real Steelers O this week ,or at least I hope we do....We will not win running multiple WR sets the Jets can cover to well and they can get after Ben to often.....I predict that we go back to more of the 2 WR sets and we will run the ball a whole lot better this week....

 

Dan Marion was often quoted as saying. "I hope they blitz." The Steelers don't have the blockers he had but Haley could kill them on screens and quick passes should he decide to go that route and Ben plays along.

 

Rex is only thinking about us, because of Larry Foote!

I here you, would really feak me out to be a Jets player and knowing he's into "footsies" can you imagine afer a good physical game when all you want to do is shed your gear and hit the showers... so you have a seat remove your cleats and socks and all of a suden you look up to see old Rex gazing at your feet and drooling Old Rex is a character nothing like pops when we had him out here in Arizona the was to busy beating the Wolves off.
