Getting into the playoffs is top priority. Whomever gives us the best chance deserves the nod. That said, the QBs themselves can be put into better situations if/or when Randy decides to get out of his own way.

 

I've seen Paxton Lynch and they are not the same. Luton has really improved his mobility. He's not a "runner" but can evade and by time.

The collegiate stats look similar but there are some glaring differences and that's the conferences they played in. The level of comp. is much better in the PAC 12.

At this point Lynch is a bust considering he's a first rounder that still hasn't found a spot years later. Luton still has a chance to prove himself.

 

Darnold did miss 4 or 5 games with mono, and they were hit really hard with the injury bug, still they will give this game their best shot:

yes, finding a QB prospect is paramount but I hope they don't draft one this 2020 draft. This o-line has taken a nose-dive with Munch gone. Foster is old, Pouncey is losing it and AV is a wreck. I hope they take an offensive lineman (or two even). The game is won and lost at the LOS still and solidifying the o-line will be huge when a new QB is eventually brought in.

After seeing the defense this year, Ben will definitely return and you know the FO can't cut him with that contract. So he will be the starter next year no doubt. Plus that's another year of evaluating MR and Duck for what that is worth. Bringing in a young QB with a bad o-line can sometimes take away from his development imo. Solidifying that o-line should be the top offseason priority imo. Ben can do damage with JuJu, JW13 and DJ18.
