Bob McGinn, who has covered the Packers for decades, said in a podcast with Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com that the team is ready to move on from Rodgers.

“They are done with Rodgers,” McGinn said, citing his own instincts, his knowledge of the league, and “discussions with someone who [has] first-hand knowledge” of the Packers. “He’s not coming back. I mean, they’re disgusted with him, and they’re done with him. And they’re moving on.”

McGinn added that he’s “totally convinced” Rodgers won’t be back as the starter.

Boosting the belief that Rodgers will be gone, as McGinn explained it, is that the team fully believes in Jordan Love, and that the team is ready to turn the page after trading up and making Love a first-round pick in 2020.

McGinn predicts that, if Rodgers does insist on returning, he’ll be the backup to Love.

That cap hit will make it hard to move on from him

The reporters were saying the same thing last year and then the team signed him to a new contract. Someone in the organization approved his new contract, so I don't believe everyone in the organization is done with Aaron Rodgers.

He has $99 million in dead cap money if the Packers release him in 2023, and Aaron is still their best QB on the team. I was surprised that the Packers did not immediately hire back Nathaniel Hackett to make Aaron happy.

Same here. Head case. He looked like he had a real chance to be a GOAT a dozen years ago, but instead he became Mr. Regular Season. Amazing that it happened after winning a Super Bowl that he played very well in.

his teammates from that era have had some interesting things to say about him. According to them he hated McCarthy because McCarthy passed over him in the draft for someone else. According to them McCarthy would call a play and Rodgers would call something else in the huddle. That left wide receivers in a conundrum. Do what the coach wants or do what the qb wants? If they do what the qb wants the coach is oissed and they might get benched. If they do what the coach wants the qb gets pissed and won’t throw them the ball. Supposedly he also cared about personal stats more than team accomplishments. Couple that with his new found hippy dippy bull crap and it would be a hard pass from me.

Add me to the list of people that did not. If people thought Big Ben was a diva... what is Aaron?! He is as every bit of an ******* as Brady is a crybaby... which is saying quite a bit!!

They aren't releasing him, but they could trade him. The contract is designed to make the cap hit tolerable if they move him, but much better if they wait until after June 1.

One of the teams that just constantly gets in the way of the Steelers getting one of the Elite Tackles in the draft is the New York Jets at number 13. So, we need the Aaron Rodgers trade to happen so the Packers, who do not need a LT, end up with the 13th and 15th pick in the draft.

Thumbs up to the Aaron Rodgers to New York Trade.... Lets make it happen! :)

The team has no owner, which can explain some things..somethimes an owner gets in the way i.e. Colts, but whoever calls the shots let Rodgers ramrod things for 2 long. They traded up to get a QB in the first round, they should have parted ways, instead they signed him to a ridicules contract that hamstrings them. I have no idea what the deal will be, but the Jets are absolute fools to take on that burden.

Seeing how OTAs are not usually a Rodgers thing they can probably get away with that, lol. It may make the Jets a better team, but SB worthy, highly doubtful. The constant drama he brings just is not worth the risk.

The Jets were actually going in the right direction, I just do not see them 'there' yet, going all in like the Rams did, with Rodgers is just idiotic imo.

You want to know why the Packers stunk up this year? Aaron Rogers cap hit this year, if he remains with the Packers, is $59 million+. That contract is 27% of the cap. they also have $24 million in cap space. Another 11% of the cap. So they are only using 62% of their cap space on the other 50 positions on their team (using the rule of 51).

I see the Giants only had to give up this years 3rd pick to the Raiders for Darrin Waller.

You say that like it wouldn't be an improvement for the Jets.
