Replacement officials

Saw where the referee union was complaining about the replacement refs from last night's HOF game and all the mistakes they made. Basically just cuttin on them to make themselves look better and put more pressure on the NFL to settle. I highly doubt they will talk about ref mistakes to the media once they get back. That will happen never, so it seems very hypocritical for them to do that.

Anyway, one of the things they said was missed was a helmet to helmet on a punt returner trying to make a catch. It was a great play by the gunner on ST for the kicking team and was also the returner's fault for not signaling a fair catch and trying to catch it at the last second and make a play. The punt returner should not be awarded for making a mistake and the other team should not be penalized for making a great play. A BS helmet to helmet call would have done just that. It is exactly the kind of BS/Lawsuit covering call that is causing true football fans to turn away from the game. If the replacement refs are going to call "no call" on a play like this then I say let the no ref settlement drag on and on.

 

I am just hoping with the replacement refs that maybe THEY will see it and then call it as "holding" when #92 is gang assaulted on the way to sacking the QB and I also hope that these refs will call it a foul when a defensive player breaks Ben's ______ (You can fill in the blank here! I was going with nose.)

I am still completely baffled at how the NFL can still have referee's that are not solely 100 % committed to the job as being a full time career. The profession is a multi billion dollar entity yet we still have the men in stripes performing the job as a moon light gig.

What gives Roger?

Why have Doctors, Lawyers and Judges running these games like a parent does for their childs local weekend sports participation?

These replacement refs are nothing more than the guy coming out from running the concession stand when guy on duty just can't make it that day.

It won't be long before we have the guy dressed as Chuck E Cheese during the week calling the Superbowl on Sunday.

 

I say we use the lingerie football league players as refs.

Judging from the HOF game, they'd be just as proficient.

 

Although I like the idea. I thought we were trying to get away from Ben wanting throwing the deep ball.

I was kinda thinking this way, as well... raying:
Maybe, just maybe, they would call the game, the way it was MEANT to be called, instead of being beholden to Rodge, to protect his faves.. Doubt it, but it would be nice.
Also, I have wondered for a long time, why we don`t have "full time", professional referees?
Is it really true, that these guy STILL have "day jobs", when they aren`t refereeing?
I guess that would make them even MORE susceptible to Rodger`s influence, if they relied on this for their total income,tho...
What a "no-win situation"... Kinda like appealing your suspension to the guy that handed it out...

 

This happens because the owners can't pay them any more money, don't you understand that is each ref got a 5k a year raise the owners would go broke....God forbid if the indvidual profit would only be high 8 figures instead of 9.
