    http://nflbreakdowns.com/scouting-report-alvin-bud-dupree-kentucky/

4 pages long, all of them good stuff. Broken down by skill, supported by clear, pausable gifs. This is how scouting reports should be done. I wish they'd done more than just 30 guys.

In case you want to skip to the end: it's an honest look, and he likes Dupree a lot. It's a reassuring read.

good stuff snack. thanks for the post. Dupree has to make it for us and I do believe he will. I'd like to see more forced fumbles, but I'd like to see that across the board from our defense.

The author talked a bit about Dupree benefitting from poor or blown blocks. ("I haven’t seen this many blown blocking assignments from a top ranked program (Louisville) in a while.")

I do wonder how many of those "mistakes" might have been created by Dupree's speed/reaction time, instead of him just being lucky that the other guy messed up.

Well, the examples he showed were definitely mistakes, not just Dupree getting in there so fast the offense didn't have time to react. I believe the author's point (that I agree with) was that mistakes happen to and against everyone, and Dupree is very good about taking advantage of them. Believe it or not, some guys just aren't.

Ziggy Hood comes to mind. Once in awhile he would bust through the line on a blown assignment or something, and hesitate so many times on his way to the quarterback it looked like he was walking. I think it stemmed from lack of confidence that he'd get there in time, mixed with desire to hustle down the field if the QB dumped it off to a RB. But it was just stupid and didn't cause a rush. Bud really gets in there.

Someone posted a video back when the Steelers drafted Dupree and while it was impressive with a lot of his play making ability I did take notice of all the missed blocks that he very much was a benefit of. I guess it was surprising because Kentucky played in the SEC and I thought that was a very solid conference. Naturally, I do hope he does well but from what I saw on that highlight real, he will face much tougher competition.

Sounds like this guy thinks old Bud is a slacker.

It's interesting, I didn't read this until it was posted, but my pre draft player comparison was Robert Quinn - the same as the report's author used. My assessment was pretty much the same overall. The guy is raw as all heck. I'm not sure how much technique coaching he got. The sky is the limit with good coaching.

Yeah, I thought his assessment was pretty dead on.

To me the key is... is there any evidence that Bud doesn't take well to coaching? I don't think so. But is there evidence he didn't have very good coaching? Yes, I think so. Porter, Butler, and James Harrison should be able to help turn this guy into the player we need.

Points more to the later, he didn't even have a position coach in college.
