we won games with a QB named Duck.

and the fact that KC played a meaningless game proves his point.

How many meaningless games has Tomlin and the Steelers played?

Many in 2009,2013 and 2022....the steelers won the last 3-4 games of those years but it did not matter at the end

Those who compare Tomlin to Reid have a very short memory

No some of us have actually watched their whole careers, not just looked at stats, and highlights. This is not a knock on you, but a true statement. I've seen every Andy Reid losing season. Again. Every single KC fan I know wanted Andy Reid gone until Patrick Mahomes 2nd year.

Do you remember how bad the chiefs were in the 5 of the 6 previous years before the Andy Reid era?

Btw Reid had a say on the Mahomes draft pick...I mean this is also him who hired their current GM,..He has a lot of power with the chiefs with great success

We are so proud of the non losing seasons, we should all wear those Deke hats.

Andy Reid is a HOF caliber coach. But to assign him all the credit for Chiefs dynasty is ridiculous. Mahomes and the defensive coordinator get an equal portion as well.

Specifically for Reid - go look at the stats and watch the games. The KC offense has degraded significantly over time. They lost talent at WR and OL. Teams also adjusted to their tendencies. Last few seasons it’s been almost totally reliant on Mahomes making magic. And this year Kelce got old and the offense really got stuck.

Go watch the Chiefs offense for the past three years. It’s not innovative. It’s not clever. It relies on Mahomes and Kelce to make plays. Kinda like Ben and AB. Remember how everyone complained about that?

As things are going right now, even with all of the injuries, I would bet against Vegas on that one. The Steelers are doing something that they have not done in a very very long time. They are playing well in December. They are surging at the right time. They are doing this despite injuries in a lot of critical spots. Some backups, recent elevations and new hires have all been stepping into the void and doing their jobs. Every year I am optimistic for the season and hopeful for the playoffs but with that dark thought in my head that we are not really a good team. This year, I think that we are looking better on both sides of the ball and our first playoff game is likely against the Chargers. They beat us once this year, but I feel like we are a far better team now than we were then, especially on the Oline.

I am not proud of it in a prideful way, but I do respect the accomplishment. I won't be throwing that out as a my team is better than your team point to anyone. But, it is a record that the Steelers franchise will have for at least the next 15 years. That is if the Steelers have a losing season next year and the Bills win for the next 15 years. 22 years as a franchise could be a record that stands for a very very long time. The Dallas record of 21 seasons in a row lasted almost 40 years. It would not shock me if no franchise ever beats the Steelers at 22 wins.

Tomlin's 19 in a row is also an impressive feat. My problem with this record is that I felt like Tomlin was playing things too safe and sometimes it seemed like he was playing for a non losing season rather than a SB. This year felt like that, right up until the fire Tomlin chants and booing of Renegade at home. After that game, the team feels different. It feels like they moved onto page 2 in the playbook. Right now, I think we could win a playoff game and that is a much needed shot in the arm for the fans.

Actually, they have only played one meaningless game being out of playoff contention.

The difference between Reid, Belichick and Tomlin is that Reid has been to 5 SB’s with his franchise QB with 3 rings and Belichick 9 with 6 rings. Reid and Mahomes will likely add to that resume.

Tomlin has been to 2 with 1 ring. Brady is the goat but theres not a lot separating Mahomes and Ben.

I don’t think you understand what the word meaningless means.

In 2022 we weren’t eliminated from the playoffs until week 18 when Miami beat the Jets.

We still had something to play for in week 18 in 2022.

Same thing in 2009. We were still playing for something in the last week until we were officially eliminated.

ln 2013 we weren’t eliminated until the final week when the Chargers beat KC in OT.

yeah.. he is using hindsight since we didn’t make the playoffs thinking all those games were meaningless.

KC game was meaningless because they were officially eliminated a week or 2 ago.

Really? How many playoff shootouts has Ben won?
How many times has Mahomes played like garbage on still won like Ben has at times?
How many SBs has Ben been in without an elite defense?

Heck a case can be made that Josh Allen has been better than Ben and the equal of Mahommes in the post season and hasn't won jack squat because his defense ALWAYS seems to give up a ton of points in the post season.

We Steeler fans will say Ben is better than Rodgers based on championships. Rodgers has had ONE SOLITARY top 5 defense ever and he beat us for his only SB win.

    Defense matters too.

Rodgers is another one who has suffered through inadequate coaching. As far as Im concerned he was the best QB in the last 20 years.

Well, the past 20 years has seen a virtual mount rushmore of great QB's. Ben, Brady, Brees, Manning, and Rodgers. Who is the best? That question can vary on the location of the fan.
