Just watched the end of the game again since I was in a noisy bar last night and wanted to hear what was said and noticed the incident that led to the Jones penalty. EVERY SINGLE Bunghole fan that I've read on their forms and in responses to news articles are blaming Porter for being on the field and that he was out there even after Brown had left. This is 1/2 true. Peezy was with the group attending to Brown and went to walk off of the field but was bumped back into and surrounded by Bengal players by #95. Amazing the difference when you watch the whole video and not just look at a screen shot from it.

95 actually came hauling ass in focused on hitting Porter.

I've seen photos indicating this. I think the Bengals accused Porter of trash talking, but it looked a bit of an overreaction by far.

Is there a shorter clip of the incident? Not sure I can put myself through the whole game again...

This "trash talking" crap that I keep seeing is from a story earlier today that was loosely quoting unnamed Bengals players. I've seen enough of Bengals players make believe nonsense this season to know it's most likely complete bull**** before I even reviewed the evidence.

We were lucky not to get flagged there. It's illegal for Porter to be on the field as he isn't a trainer nor one of the trainers helpers. Honestly, we got very lucky yesterday. If we want to beat Denver, we'll need to play a hell of a lot better.

Yep at 2:44:54 you see Porter shoved back into the crowd by #95 Dingleberry and then his jacket is grabbed and he's pulled in again.

Is it? Because there were tons of Bengal coaches on the field when Bernard was hurt.

And I know that it's a different case, but there were swarms of Bungle players (including Burfict) rushing the field too.

We didn't get lucky. When have you ever seen a team flagged for having a member of the coaching staff on the field due to a serious injury? The Bengals had several coaches on the field earlier in the game when Bernard was injured. Probably other times, too. It happens literally all the time. No doubt that we'll need to be virtually flawless to beat Denver. One could argue though that this was a tougher contest for various reasons.

I don't know about players coming onto the field when they weren't in the play. I do know coaches aren't allowed to come onto the field like that.

    Rule 13.1.2

Either or both team attendants and their helpers may enter the field to attend their team during a team timeout by either team. No other non-player may come on the field without the Referee's permission, unless he is an incoming substitute (5-2-2).

During any team timeout, all playing rules continue in force. Representatives of either team are prohibited from entering the field unless they are incoming substitutes, or team attendants or trainers entering to provide for the welfare of a player, and any game-type activities are prohibited on the Field of Play.

I don't know if I've ever seen it, but most of the time the coach isn't mixing it up with the players. Yes, I'm well aware of what the Bungles players did involving Porter, but I don't care about them. Porter very easily could have been flagged because he was still in the mix after Brown was up. A coach attending to his players isn't going to get flagged, a coach in there mixing it up with the players is lucky if he doesn't get flagged.

He was still in the mix because 55 initially blocked him from leaving, then 95 bumped him while 55 pulled him back into the mix.

There was no luck involved, Porter was just standing there. Idiot Bengal player ran up and bumped him from behind, THEY are lucky they didn't get 3 unsportsmanlike penalties during that sequence.

I wasn't sure until today because of who Porter is but with all the video evidence, there was zero chance of him being flagged there.

You're not going to see any of this crap next week anyway, no rivalry. Bengals and Steelers literally hate each other.

Lets be real here, Porter knew what he was doing. Porter is a pest to opponents, which is why we love him. I highly doubt his intentions were on the up and up. He wanted to poke them a little bit, he's that kind of guy. You don't lose that fire when you become a coach. I'm just saying, things could have been called very differently and it wouldn't have necessarily been the wrong call.

That's true. I'm mostly worried about Thomas burning us in the screen game like he always seems to. We're so weak against screens

Tell me, were the Bengals also even luckier that they didn't get a THIRD 15 yard penalty when Carlos Dunlap was arguing that Burfict penalty, yelling in the Refs face WITHOUT his Helmet on ?....Cause there is a Black letter rule that clearly states that ANY player who removes his helmet while on the field is a 15 yard penalty. So maybe all the whining Bungal fans should STFU!!

Burfict instigated the whole thing by coming towards porter, trying to get to brown and you see contact with the trainer. Joey may have said something but by then they were already in full thug mode. Looks to me they could have flagged burfict or 95 as well as jones. Jones even contacted the official again after call was made.

I don't remember that, but if it happened, then yes, they were lucky they didn't get flagged for it. Like I said though, I don't really care what other teams do.

Here's another question....Why were there SIX Bengal players around Brown? SIX?
Im sure that Burfict just wanted to make sure that Brown was ok. And the contact with the trainer was initiated by Burfict patting Brown on the back as he left the field. Im sure Burfict was really concerned.

I don't know nor do I care. Let the other teams rack up penalties. We are better than them. Peezy can't do that again because I guarantee he'll get flagged next time

Here's the thing...according to the rule, he's allowed out there if the refs give him permission. Obviously the refs know the rule. So if he wasn't made to leave then it's implicit that he has their permission to be there.

Those back letter rules don't apply to the Bengals apparently because in the last game, a Bengal punted the ball into the stands. No flag. Fascinating.
