He had some good games after that. The defense let down just as much. Injured decimated them. Including ben.

I'd also add to that by saying he has already done several internships with NASA while pursuing his football dream so you have to almost assume they are on equal footing in that regard. It's also a very exciting time to be in the field with private companies pushing exploration and advancements of technologies in space exploration neater to the race for the moon levels of the 60's and 70's. It fires the imagination, now I love football but it comes in 2nd to hearing about space and the exploration of it. Sorry my inner need is showing.

The Hall of Fame quarterback needs instruction from a scrub who has done absolutely nothing in the NFL. Some of the crap you Dobbs lovers come up with just cracks me the hell up.

I won’t go as far as to say Ben needs Dobbs to point out the weak spots in coverage but Ben does value Dobbs opinion, even the beat guys have acknowledge as much.

Actually we had reports that Dobbs told Ben the exact play and who would be open twice that scored TD'S..This is not made up it's what was reported so that's facts ,,so it's safe to speculate it happened more than we know..

Also another Article on SD about how Ben trust Dobb's and the OC talked about how valuable Dobbs will be to the QB room..Also facts ..This was not a post about what Dobbs has done or might do on the field it was simple facts about what he does bring to the Team and yes Dobbs can probably read Defenses and understands concepts much better than Ben does ..

If he really Loves the game yes he can make a good living as a Coach and to me he seems to Love the game..I have made 2 to 3 times as much in a year as I made Coaching ,but I enjoyed that much more and wished I would have traded that money for Coaching..Money comes and goes , but the joy, pain, agony, memories, the thrill and all that is in the game cannot be replaced by money..

I know that, but some people go on as if Roethlisberger has to have him there or he'll just fall apart. It's ridiculous.

It is exaggeration of the value of Dobbs based on a few anecdotes about a guy people like. This idea that Roethlisberbger needs Dobbs is just comical.

I hadn’t heard about that one. Steelers obviously value Dobbs, the fact that they kept him even when he is injured says as much, that’s an easy cut if he didn’t provide anything.

They may cut him eventually but clearly they like having him here.

having a new line takes time to gel and build continuity so that definitely will be a work in progress. The passing game should be fine since theirs familiarity there. I expect najee to ball from day 1.

If Watt doesn't sign we are going to need the offense on the field a lot. I really believe Najee is going to be huge for that purpose. 3rd and 1 I'm liking our chances.

Ben has his Daughter helping him learn the new system and designs but you say a Rocket Scientist who also plays the same spot and had a very good camp in the new system and his HC speaks highly of him his new OC and his Team Mates speak highly of him can't help a QB who was all about extending the play and playing sandlot ball until just a few seasons back?

Ben needs Dobbs the new OC his Vet WR's the QB coach his Daughter his IPAD his wristband and any other person or thing I forgot to list ,he has never been a student of the game, he just said on SD the O may look ugly for awhile just have to find away to win..My take would be he does not know the system well yet and needs all the help he can get..

Wasn't Dobbs middle school/high school age when Ben was winning Super Bowls?

Exactly they would have cut him already If the Coaches din't value him in the QB room and as a resource to those playing the position..

I don't think it will be soon either IMO Dobbs has 3 or 4 more seasons as a BU before moving into some type of Coaching ..IMO he will start as an Assistant QB Coach or assistant OC and may very well become a HC someday ..

Yes and Ben was winning playing sandlot Football breaking tackles and extending plays ..I remember the OC talking about Coaching WR'S where and how to break off their routes so Ben could find them after extending the play ..That Ben is gone and the one that remains needs to understand Football much better than he ever has in his career ...

I think Matt Canada had it right when he said “We are going to do what Ben wants to do and how Ben wants to do it.”

Probable have to wait one more year for Canada to get his offense up and rolling here.

Ben's daughter can't be more then 8-9 years old, if she's helping him we are in trouble.

I'm sure he's a likable Guy. I heard the same about him in Tennessee....still things are being slightly exaggerated about his need on the sideline
