Really!? Bush is the 8th best rookie?

Exactly right, and the 3 teams they have beat have a combined record of 3-20 and the 4 teams they lost to have a combined record of 26-4, so until they start beating some winning teams the steelers will dwell in irrelevancy when it comes to rating players who have played against better competition, as well as power rankings and all other team stats....

Regardless where he is “rated” by a writer, Bush was the player the Steelers have needed since the Shazier injury. We didn’t need 4-3 d-ends so Bosa and Burns would have been wasted in a 3-4 defense. We didn’t need a qb so Murray was unnecessary (not that we could have drafted any of them).
Bush isn’t perfect, but frankly he’s having a better rookie season that’s Shazier. Can he progress and develop into the monster that Shazier had become before his injury? That remains to be seen.
Ultimately, I want an All-pro and we won’t know that about Bush for 2-4 years.

Leaving Bush aside, is Minshew legit? He looks incredible so far. Jax have won the QB lottery if he can sustain this level of play.

I was ready to reply with a disagreement, but yeah, we just need to see his development over the next couple years, as well as his durability. This season isn't our season, anyway.

But I do have to say, as of right now, I'm not impressed with the kid. If not for his quickness, he would be a bust. Hopefully he can learn the defense and how to tackle by next season. Because if not, he's worthless.

    @Roonatic@Roonatic

How hilarious was Bush getting faked out of his shoes on that Hoyer pass for a touchdown?

I stand by what I said, until he learns the defense, he's worthless.

Never heard a word from him today. May have hit wall already?
Can't defend against the pass. He has to learn how to cover receivers
    or we are in trouble.

One bad game does not change the outlook of Devin Bush for me personally. Dude has been everything he was brought here for. Yes, he did give up another Touchdown to Jack Doyle. However, there are two stats that need to be brought up for discussion here:

Total catches by Colts Tight Ends: 5

Total yards by Colts Tight Ends: 38

    Total TDs: 1

Now, all of the stats listed was soley on Devin Bush. So the question remains, what was soley on him?! Well clearly the one touchdown was but what else?! I only saw Devin Bush give up three catches. How many yards though I will have to do a follow up. However, while the touchdown against Doyle was bad, that is by no means the main point of emphasis here.

Recall back to how often Pittsburgh would let Tight Ends run wild on this defense. Since Bush arrived, while that was still an issue, it was not as big given as before. Since the Minkah acquisiton, never mind the defense but Bush himself has beem doing much better. Jack Doyle is a good Tight End. For that matter, I am impressed they kept Eric Ebron out of the Endzone!

Overall, in short?! Devin Bush is doing fine in my opinion. It is going to take more than one blip in the proverbial radar for me to get concerned.

Bush has been invisible the last few games, at least as far as hearing his name mentioned by announcers

Bush will be average at best. For a top 10 pick he does not look good. Minkah is a legit stud tho so glad we made that trade.

Yeah the last 2 games have been quiet, he got run over for a TD in the Dolphin game and now gets faked out by a TE. He is still a Rookie and he has shown some flash so maybe there is hope.

How do you find that funny? Man I was pissed off, I was not a DB55 fan but he is on this team and this is the team I root for I am not gonna be happy a guy fails just because I didn't want him. We need this kid to play good now more than ever. We have not 1st rounder next year and gonna have a hole at OLB, DB55 needs to be good.

Name one draft pick much less starter who has not given Up a TD even in our vaunted history... I'll wait.

Team is above the bar with the **** it's been handed injury wise. Sure the coaching is usually suspect and more so situationally but they keep grinding. Back to .500 ball now... we 'll see what happens.but pleas,e don't put 55's name on a TE TD reception up the middle that this team has not been able to cover since before farrior. 3rd and longs are any teams gravy around here.

The scheme is ****...the lack of understanding why from the fort office is further ****.

We could've accomplished the same with keeping DL around and he was past his time.

Instead we expect more from lesser talent within the confines of a weathered scheme?

    LAME!

You and I are looking at this through different lenses. Bush has been an unimpressive blip on an equally unimpressive season so far. He's done nothing noteworthy other than be able to catch up to ball carriers and get credit for some tackles. He's been out of position more than in position. He has missed tackles EVERY game. He has potential, but he's got to learn how to play the position on Sundays.

Out of position you say?! Interesting indeed. I believe fellow Top 10 pick Devin White would like to have a word with you.

I pointed at Roonatic with that comment. He thought it was hillarious when I said that Bush needs to learn the position better and that he's not been impressive to me. So I was actually asking him if HE thought Bush getting burned was hillarious.
