I like thought of trading out of the 20th pick if there are a significant number of guys remaining that we have a similarly high grade on. This seems like the kind of draft that has a lot of parity in that next tier talent range beyond the top 15 players. Here are some realistic options to trade down per the trusty trade value chart:

All of these are in exchange for pick #20

    Bills 25 + 89
    Bucs 27 + 91 + a future 3rd or 4th
    Cards 23 + 87
    Chiefs 30 + 62 (a bit of a stretch)
    Cowboys 24 + 88
    Jags 33 + 65
    Jags 33 + 70 + 106 or a future 3rd
    Titans 26 + 90 + maybe a future 4th or 5th

For some reason the Cowboys one stood out, and seems perfect.

Yeah. Obviously it takes two to tango, and there needs to be someone available at #20 that they covet for that to work, but it happens every draft.

I was thinking the Same, also TB would be a good trading partner, i woudnt want to move that far back personally , but BA might want a QB and move up to 20 to get him

Remember when trading out of the 1st round you lose the ability to exercise the 5th year option in case the player is everything you hoped for.

So, with this in mind I am hoping they don't trade out of the 1st round.

We need to nail this draft. I don’t see us trading out of the first. Might trade back a little, but not out of it entirely.

I like the idea of trading back as well. Assuming they don’t target a QB they can go BPA at CB, WR, OT, Edge or DLine and it’d be the right pick if they get a good player. There should be several guys in play even if they trade back to the end of the first.

Getting an offer they like is the key of course. The extra mid round pick they’d presumably get would be very useful but Colbert has rarely done it and it would be a bit of a surprise to say the least.

Pro Football Network has London rated as the 3rd best player in the entire draft. I'm surprised that they have him falling to the #20 pick. He's 6'4" 220 lbs and has great speed and hands. Trubisky would jump for joy if we drafted London.

I typically hate the idea of trading back on draft day. There would have to be an overpay to do so. Unless the guy we REALLY want is 100% safe to be there at 25 or 27 or whatever, then fine... but what's the difference of just taking the guy at 20 instead of waiting to 25 and running the risk of someone else trading up ahead of you. If there's a guy you like, just take him. Quantity doesn't equal quality.

He doesn't jump off the tape as a guy who has great speed. Certainly is really good at high pointing the ball and getting that "moss" catch. Good hands overall. Not sure about his route running. I have a hard time with London. Can't figure out if I think he's good, or if he's just big. I don't like him at 20 idt. There's 3 WR's I would take in front of him.

i'm hoping they take christian watson from ND state if they go WR.

possible he could be there at their pick in the 2nd but i wouldn't hold my breath. trading down may make him a target. it depends how dead set they are to grab one of these qb's that may drop.

if they happen to take a LB then it may say a lot about how they feel about bush's long term value with them. christian harris maybe?

another option is jalen pitre at safety. trading down again would put him in play. dax hill would possibly be there but he is more FS and i think we are stacked there already. norwood and minkah. i'd rather wait for nick cross as a guy that can play either spot.

corner is another option if we trade down. i do like mcduffie from washington. can play anywhere as far as outside or the slot which we could use.

the 5th year option is fine but we could just sign the guy in year 4 as well. 5th year is usually expensive. maybe at qb is the only one really that important.

Heck the 5 th year option is kind of fake...most players that are good, and Qbs start demanding a new contract, or start throwing fits, and trouble before that time anyway.

Even including the likes of Jameson Williams, Drake London can theoretically be argued as the best deep threat among all first round WR's I have graded. That said though, there is a reason for this; a Vertical Passing Offense is literally Drake London's best fit... and potentially his only fit in the NFL. I seriously do not see him fitting in any other Offensive System; West Coast included... which is strange given his natural ability to catch and doubly so in traffic.

That said, USC's Pro Day is in two days. If Colbert wants to have one heck of a farewell tour... might wanna check out the college that landed him his first HOF Player during his 22 year tenure here. Truth be told though, I do not believe Drake London honestly lasts that long.

I don't think London will workout at USC this week, he might schedule a workout later on.

Truth be told, I never expected neither Tomlin/Colbert to make that trip regardless. Ohio State is more manageable and has two First Round WR Options there the same. Ole Miss has the same date as Ohio State (March 23) but unless the Steelers really see something in Corral... my bet is that Ohio State is the next stop.

Any draft experts that can work the Draft Value calculator tell me what the Steelers can get from the Chiefs it they want to trade down in the 1st with them? I am now betting the Chiefs will be moving up in the 1st round to grab a WR.

KC just restocked their draft picks. 13 picks... at least 2 in every round except for the 6th.
    • Round 1 (Pick 29 from 49ers)
    • Round 1 (Pick 30)
    • Round 2 (Pick 50) XXXXX
    • Round 2 (Pick 62)
    • Round 3 (Pick 94)
    • Round 3 (Pick 104; Resolution JC-2A)
    • Round 4 (Pick 121) XXXXX
    • Round 4 (Pick 135)
    • Round 6 (Pick 191)
    • Round 7 (Pick 233 from Minnesota)
    • Round 7 (Pick 243 from Raiders via Patriots)
    • Round 7 (Pick 251)
    • Round 7 (Pick 259*)

I can't help, but sounds good. If we could trade our 1st for one of their 1st , a 3nd, and 4th . Sounds fair.

I think trading down is appealing. When I see a Rooney go to a Pro Day, then I have to raise my eyebrow a little. And maybe Dam Rooney Jr. went to other combines in previous years; I'm not sure. I tend to think they're hell bent on QB. The big 3 likely won't be there at 20, so trading down and grabbing Ridder seems to be their best option, or grabbing Strong in the third.

A trade back won't get them Willis, or Pickett.

Neither would staying at 20. Top 3-4 will likely be gone by 20. Howell is the wildcard that could potentially fall.
