De Castro is on the rise and from what I saw, was only getting better as the season progressed and will get even better under Munch. IMO

With that stated, the previous poster is just stating overall production up until this time. I think David's a beast but can't find fault in someone summing up the production thus far.

They may want to reconsider Zone then because the OL sure did an above average job last season

Well lets not go patting them on the back too much, they could stand to improve. Bell didn't have a lot of running room and the no huddle helped the pasing game. If zone can improve things, then I'm all for trying. If they can even run it with the personnel they have, Pouncey and DD are cut out for it, don't know about the others.

I think Decastro is a solid player. I try not to get over-excited about a right guard because the Steelers (at least recently), tend to run to the left instead of the right. We also won a Super Bowl with Darnel Stapleton playing RG, so how important is that position compared to something like LT?

What I don't get is that why isn't he playing left guard? Maybe it is just scheme, but I feel he is very similar to Alan Faneca and Faneca beasted LG.

Until we started Beachum at LT, we were having trouble defending left side pass rush. If Decastro is as good as I think he is, I am curious why they didn't move him to the left to try to help the turnstile.

Regardless, he is a good player and we are lucky to have him.

That said, him diving for Pouncey's leg was one of the most facepalming and stupid displays that I have witnessed while watching the Steelers play.

I think it is because DD can pull both ways.

Yes, I think since he's SO much better at pulling than anyone else, putting him at RG would help us restore balance and ability to run left (behind Foster, who can lock on and drive better than pull. That was the thinking, I think, but he didn't seem to pull as much as I expected. I don't have the stats though.

if munch can get his head UP when blocking, DD will be much improved. the head went down on the pounce take out and several other times during the year when he went to the 2nd level. he has a tendancy to put that head down as a ram on first contact in space and can miss the block because of it. munch will fix it.
