Any of you buying this talk that Hines might come back for a season if Bryant has to sit for a year?

Not sure I am buying it, but Hines is dead serious about the offer. He trains for the Iron man triathlon so he may have a bit left. Honestly I think there are vets out there that could help more but it Ward and I'd love for him to come back even if it is for a year in a reduced role. I wanted that when he called it quits

It would screw up his HOF timeline but on the bright side he could serve as the emergency QB :hehehe:

He doesn't have anything left, he couldn't get any separation when they cut him now he's pushing 40.

No way. I love my memories of Hines as a great player, and don't want new memories of him as a too-slow WR who can't do anything but block.

Not sure he needs separation though, they need a vet a locker room guy and some one sure handed who know where the first down marker is. We aren't talking about a guy that will stretch the field or burn by a CB if that is what they are looking for there is always Wallace or at worst DHB. Like I said if there is zero option of getting a Roddy White or a Wallace then maybe you look at Ward. It wouldn't be my first option.

Love me some Hines but his last season was painful enough to watch him go through. Not going to be better now.

Brown,Wheaton, DHB, and Coates are all vets. I really don't think you need to supplement the veteran leadership of arguably the best WR in the NFL with a 40 year old washed up possession receiver.

His yardage dropped by about 400 yards each of the last two years. Considering he would be 5 years removed, that would put his contribution at about negative 1600 yards.

If you want an old leader. Hire a coach.

Yeah you'd think that but then again you also had a guy who can't stay off the wacky weed, the best WR in the game doing forward flips and humping goal posts. you have a back-up center who hits other teams players after the whistle and almost takes out one of the most valuable players on the team, apparently a backup running back that did something wrong in speaking his mind. Not to mention a LB corps that benefited greatly from a washed up pushing 40 OLB teaching them how to work out and keep their bodies in shape. Just no reason what so ever to even consider an offer like that. You are absolutely right Strummer, we should keep that roster spot open for a real value guy like a 5th kicker you know we will need that guy.

Look Strummerfan I get it and no this is not going to happen, like I said not my first, second, third but maybe fourth option. I would rather look at Wallace or White first and then see what shakes out in the draft. But it is fun to speculate and I think there is a vacuum in the leadership department that someone needs to fill because AB isn't a leader right now.

Your comparison of Ward to Harrison is borderline asinine. Harrison didn't exactly set the world on fire in 2015, but it was far better then Ward's final season(s). Personally I think Harrison is all but done, but sadly Jones can't beat him out.

Dude you can't be serious, Ward has as much chance of getting signed by the Steelers as you and I.

But if he did come back, he could apply a Keith Rivers to Burfict. That alone would be worth the 5th WR spot. Lol..

Who compared anyone? I don't believe I made any comparisons. I did point out that some young guys on the team were greatly helped by an old washed up vet but you are right it couldn't possibly help this team of young guys to have someone to mentor them, they have it under control.

Not very serious but hey stranger things happen, I never thought the Pittsburgh Steelers would hire a guy with as tarnished a rep as Mike Vick but we all know how that went. There are no absolutes in this world my friend well except for death and taxes, oh and that the Pats will cheat this season.

    HAHAHAHAHA.
    Hines is 40. FORTY! Four-zero.
It's a feel good story, but he wouldn't stand a chance. Not to mention that what he does (did) as a WR and what Bryant does are two different things, so I don't know how helpful he'd be in replacing Bryant.

Now if he could play running back, then I definitely could see him filling the void left by not signing Stephen Jackson.

When ever I think what could Hines bring to a team, this video stands out, notice the lack of separation lol:roflmao: the man could play though.

Edit: It also shows how dumb the Ravens are because if Ray-Ray knows everytime they void the middle we go there and have for 13 years and they still do it, that's just dumb
