Eh it’s more of how good chiefs are rather than Baltimore being that bad. We can beat Baltimore though. Chiefs...

I can't believe I lost my very good paying job over an illness that has a 99.6% survival rate.

    Fair enough!! :lolol:

I do think we are the best team though to stop Kansas City. We have a QB that can throw and a Defense that, while reeling right now, will be truly elite again.

It's actually fun to watch 15 play even knowing that he could be our barrier. But I have never seen a player be able to dominate for too long, the league always figures out a way to bring an immortal down to earth..........expect #43:cool:

    Particularly at the QB position.

Sorry to hear that. Wife and I are pretty much set for rest of life and this illness has caused some of her family members dollar problems which in turn is now taking my dollars.

Thanks. I'm in my mid 50's and just signed up for a different college degree on a grant after a ton of layoffs in my industry. If I am accepted it will be an entire new career field for me. I would have never guessed that I would be going back to college courses this late into my life. Maybe it will be something like this.

Maybe you'll like it. Hope you didn't lose any retirement benefits with the layoff.

Just saw this. My last day of work was August 29th. My company moved to Middleburg Heights Ohio, and since I'm also in my mid 50's and own my own home, I wasn't about to start over. So I took my severance and a real nice check for all of my unused PTO and am putting a sizeable dent in the honey-do list, whilst I rewrite my resume and ponder what I want to do next. I have even thought about getting my CDL, especially after I found out what you can make with a little experience and the right company. I'm sort of worn out going to the same place and operating and repairing machinery, even though I still enjoy it. It's the bull**** rat race that working production for a big multi-national company has become.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do. It's difficult at our age to go back to the drawing board but the upshot is I only have to throw about 8 to 10 more years worth of money into my retirement then I can tell them all to blank off. There are many people worse off than us through no fault of their own because of this bug going around.

In my case. I have been in my industry for 30+ years and have started over 5 times or more. Right now if I continue in that field I will most likely return to 2nd or 3rd shifts with no weekends off and a measly 2 weeks vacation. Truly starting over at 50some years old. It is time I lick my wounds and just find another field just to keep my sanity. Good luck to you my friend. My late father always said. If you are not happy doing what you are doing then you won't be doing it very long. I am using those words to find my new venture thru these tough times.

We all thought we'd retire from there. Honestly, the hardest thing to give up was all the PTO I had accrued. I'm going to miss those people, we had a good crew.

Just a side story. They basically consolidated our shop with another business. A woman that worked out there and was training here told the employees of the shop we were moving in with that "Yinzers will never move out here. They love W, Pa." She was right. Less than 10% took the relocation offer. Made me proud, lol.

I changed careers at 35 86WardsWay, from the newspaper industry to electrical. Went through a 5 year apprenticeship & feel your pain. I'm not out of the woods yet at your age but still plugging away.
