Yes, they look exactly like they did week one last year. The Bengals D looks terrible though. It's probably a combination of both.

Relax. It's game one. They gave the Steelers a beat down week one.

The Steelers didn't play well this week but the Ravens played out of their minds again to start out the season. Art Modell was fresh in their minds as well. I would hope that when one of the owners from our oraganization passes the Steelers would show up with that intensity as well.

While i will agree with you on this game after all thier supreme leader just passed away so, that added alittle incentive to play more inspired since it was at home in front of their fans and they were of course playing the "Bengholes" who were looking like they just wanted the game to be over with already. We will never let happen to us what happened to us last time we played them besides we always get up for the Ravens games and seeing that we play them in November alot can happen by then for both teams. We have the talent and the depth we just gotta get this next win against the Jets at home and things will begin to make sense. Were going to be there i mean New Orleans "I BELIEVE" :herewego: :herewego:

I didn't see the game, but all the hype is that their new no-huddle offense was firing on all cylinders. Just what we need - the Ravens with a no huddle. Sheesh!

They looked really, really good.....I would have loved to have see our team play with that kind of intensity.

I agree. Hopefully by time we play them we have a stable offensive line and Haley's system is in full gear.

I wish we would play lights out. We have incentive to play hard because it was Lebeau's birthday.

The Bengals look pretty good also. A.J. Green is going to cause us fits.

Look at the offensive line play of both teams. And can you imagine our oline against either defensive line? Hopefully we get it together by time we play them or we will be third in the division.

Hope all the Steeler top brass was watching last night. They may have learned something from it.

You don't win the super bowl week one. Yes that Ravens looked good, they are tough as hell at home. 16 straight home wins I believe. But, there is no reason we can't beat them if we play our best.

It's a good thing we don't play them until later in the season, maybe then the Steelers will play with more intensity on defense.

Yes the Ravens looked like they did last year in week 1 and so did our defense. That being said I am pretty sure we had a lead against them and Flacco led them on a 80+ yd drive to win in Pittsburgh. I just don't get all the hype right now either way. We are not as bad as the media and some want to make it out and the Ravens are not as good as everyone wants to believe. Somewhere in the middle is where everyone is. If the Ravens play lights out for 16 weeks I will be the first to admit I am wrong. I would rather have something to improve on than have the media breaking their arms patting us on the back about how good we are.

I think the Ravens are a force and probably one of the favorites in the AFC but we will have a lot to say also. All hope is not lost because we lost week 1 on the road.

My concern: the Ravens seem to be getting better and better under John Harbaugh; the Steelers seem to be taking steps backwards under Tomlin. Both coaches now pretty much have THEIR players in place.

Yes the Ravens looked great last night and the Steelers better realize it. It looks like more par for the course for the Steelers and the Ravens which means they are looking good and we are looking bad. Two things from the Ravens game last night, the Ravens new no huddle offense looked good which doesn't bod well for the Steelers after seeing what Manning did to them, and A. J. Green looks like he is all that which doesn't bod well for the Steelers defense. IMHO, the Steelers will have trouble beating the Ravens, especially in Baltimore, and A. J. Green will give the Steelers fits when we play the Bengals. It all equals up to not so good for the Steelers.

The Browns were also relatively unlucky in their game. But they are still the Browns.

I thought we were moving to a more developed no-huddle at one point a few seaosns ago (didn't we sign Alex Van Pelt as a coach at one point with that in mind? Or am I making that up?) - what happened to that idea?

The reason we will have difficulty with the Ravens this year is because they will be able to run the football against us successfully.

In years past when we always seemed to come out ahead of the Ravens, it was because we could make them one-dimensional--we stopped their running game and forced Flacco to beat us with his arm. The Ravens defense also shut down our running game, but the difference was that our passing game was far more effective than theirs. Now, however, it's not looking like we'll be able to stop their running attack and their passing game improved very significantly last year and into this year--now Flacco can beat us with his arm. I would not be surprised if they sweep us again this year, but I'm hoping otherwise.

I really believe that the success of this year's team will lie with our ability or inability to stop the run. I am at least encouraged by the fact that Tomlin addressed the issue in Tuesday's press conference by commenting that he believed that one of the major reasons for the Broncos success against us was the yardage they were able to consistently gain on the ground.

How do you figure that? How many SB has Baltimore been to under Harbaugh? And last year we were a Joe Flacco 90 yard drive away from winning the division. Amazing how much stock people are putting into week one. It takes about 6-8 games before you can flesh out how good teams are. When we get to the half way point then this discussion will have meaning.

This isn't about the first game this season, but rather the past season or so.

    Head-to-Head: 2008: Steelers 3-0, 2009: 1-1; 2010: Steelers 2-1; 2011: Ravens 2-0

Is Baltimore not improving against the Steelers? These records would seem to suggest so. Are the Ravens not the defending division champs? Yes. Did the Ravens play in the AFCCG last season? Yes.

So, yes, it is a valid concern that Baltimore has steadily gotten better, become the class of the AFC North. Monday night's game does nothing to dispel this.

Like I said, have this discussion again at the halfway mark when we actually know who everyone really is. And we were a miraculous Joe Flacco drive away from winning the division last year, look at that how you want. The Ravens and Steelers are about as neck and neck as you can get.

The same can be said about us beating the Cardinals in the SB. They were a miraculous drive by Ben away from winning, but the fact remains, we won that Superbowl because we played better. They beat us last year because they played better. Nothing miraculous about it.

I do think Baltimore is the better team this year unfortunately. I just haven't seen anything from our defence or our Oline to suggest that we are better than them. I hope I'm wrong and will gladly have this talk again in 6 weeks.

You're missing the point, it's not who deserved to win the divison rather to show how close the two teams are.

One thing I noticed during last night's game was Flacco torching Terence Newman who the Bengals got from the Cowboys who got rid of him because he gets torched.
