But he was food at what he did. The problem is we didn’t really have a lot of great receivers in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. The most recent ones we didn’t really hold onto many of them for a second contract.

I would put Buddy Dial 5th. As great as AB was and he was fantastic, I put Stallworth, Swann, and Ward above him because of championships, leadership, and character.

The whole reason I became a Steeler fan was Swanny...he was so much fun to watch. I love Ward and he would be my second.

Ab is way too high. Wallace, and Bryant shouldn't probably be on the list. We've had others do more.

I'll rank WRs based upon being alive and actually watching them play. This list is solely based upon stats. If I factored in other criteria Hines would be #1 by a long shot

    1. Antonio Brown
    2. Hines Ward
    3. Santonio Holmes
    4. Louis Lipps
    5. Diontae Johnson
    6. JuJu
    7. Plaxico
    8. Mike Wallace
    9. Yancey Thigpen
    10. Randle-El

I don’t know who you put ahead of AB. I mean I like Stallworth, Swann and Ward better than AB but it is hard to deny his talent. I was running out of options with Bryant and Wallace. I respect your opinion on that.

I feel the same way you do about Ward. I think your doing Yancy a disservice though. I wish we would have kept him longer. For that time period he was pretty special.

On the field,AB is the best WR in steelers history...He had 4 first team all-pro with us.But he was such a idiot off the field at the end

Always liked Charles Johnson. He made some great catches in his day.

I agree with you about the last two, but no, Brown is not too high. He was the best receiver in the game for years. That was never true of Swann. It was never true of Ward. Stallworth might have had one or two years that he was in the conversation, but not the undisputed No. 1 the way Brown was in his prime. The guy was impossible to cover, ran every kind of route, was great after the catch, consistently made spectacular catches, and was even a decent blocker. I get why people don't want to put him ahead of guys they like better. Hell, as a human being, he is very far behind Ward, Stallworth, and Swann, but people tend to rely on nonsense and undefined things to try to make the case against Brown as a player because they can't do it with facts.

Roy Jefferson has to be in the top 5. He was the best WR in the NFL in the 1960's.

I guess its how you define top 10. Brown is low in terms of players I like and I feel are meaningful to the steelers, but in terms of talent, stats, and compared to peers at time played he's tops.

The Green Bay team that year were called the Blues instead of the Packers. They were kicked out of the previous pro league for using college players in 1920. They were suspended for the entire 1921 season and then allowed to enter the new National Football League as the Green Bay Blues. In 1923 the NFL allowed the Green Bay franchise to change their nickname back to the Packers.

I assume Top 10 is the best 10, not the ones we like the most.

Well, kind of, the Steelers were the Pirates of today, authorized to wear the uniform, but not authorized to brag about it lol

Answer Me this....if He was the greatest Wr during His time.....why Did He only catch tds from Ben, and Brady, and only have hundred yard games with Ben,and Brady, ....while playing whole games with I believe 6 other Qbs. He had one 100 yard game outside Ben, and Brady, and no tds.
I've seen Guys like D-Hop, Mike Evans, and others still have great games with terrible Qbs.....Yet outside Ben, and Brady.....Ab would simply disappear. Why is that???

How many game AB has played without Ben with us?

He was very good in 2015 when he had Landry Jones for 1 games and half.Michael Vick was just washed.2015 was the only time in his peak from 2013 to 2018 that AB had no Ben as QB

Wallace bad choice IMO. Thought we had something there but sadly not so much. I guess it's just sentiment talking but I got Swanny higher. Looking at Ward he did so much more then catch a football. I can't recall Swann being close to Wards, "I'll smash you in the mouth MF" attitude.
