I take back all the things I said this week about Lefty, he stinks. The difference between he and Ben - 3rd down. I could be wrong, but I don't thing he converted a 3rd down the entire game. At some point in the 3rd quarter, Al Michaels said neither team had converted a 3rd down yet. Then Flacco converted a few. QB's make their money moving the chains on 3rd down. Byron couldn't do that, therefore he is not the answer. Cut him, he sucks.

I was at the game last night, and just re-watched some on the DVR. Being at the game live, I thought some of the criticism of Wallace was a bit harsh. After watching the 3rd & 2 fade play (which I still hate, by the way), I didn't think that Wallace could have gotten both feet down. Now, it looks to me like he just didn't make much effort to get them down. Then, in the fourth quarter when Leftwich skipped the ball into him, I thought it was just a bad pass. It WAS a bad pass, but not so bad it couldn't have been caught. I would have been a lot more frustrated had I been watching on TV -- not that I wasn't already plenty frustrated.

ANOTHER thing I thought I noticed. When we sort of stupidly took that last timeout JUST BEFORE the 2-minute warning, did it look to anybody else like Oher twitched on the 'offsides' play? I just saw the gameday thread and it was brought up a couple of times. It looks like his leg moves to me on the DVR. Then, AFTER our entire line jumps offsides, Oher moves WAY before the snap (and I don't think it was the only time during the game). At the least, the play should have been blown dead and been a neutral zone infraction and the clock reset to 2:04. Not that having more time would have suddenly provided us enough offense to get inside the Baltimore 40, but those sorts of blown calls drive me nuts. Hope we've learned something MORE about when to take timeouts.....but I'd doubt it.
