No question. However, I believe that the Rams winning starts an overall trend; one that the NFL has not seen as much of since the 1960s; teams trading away picks for star level talent. That is the only major detriment of a Rams win in the Super Bowl.

While this would definitely put teams doing so behind the eight ball roster and cap wise, should said teams win the Super Bowl??....... nothing else matters. Other teams will attempt their hand at doing so.

Yep, Jimmy Rutherford was in "win now" mode, and they did get those cups which I wouldn't trade for anything, but they need to start stacking draft capital.

It might start a trend, but I would think that Jones and Snyder would have tried it by now, no? Especially those two idiots.

Not sure what you are disagreeing with. :) I just don't want Burrows to win ultimately. Don't want Burrows getting to big for his britches. Or is that what you are saying?

Oh wait I see another post where you don't want the Rams style to be the new norm in the NFL. Yeah that I can agree with as well as wanting to Burrows to not win. So I'm hoping for a tie now. :)

Rams should kill the Bengals. Titans sacked Burrows 9 times, Rams may sack him 15 times and unlike the Titans, have the offense to burry them.

Might plunk down a hefty amount on this SB. Of course if I do that, Rams will naturally lose.

I agree. I don’t think it becomes a trend, the Rams have paid a hefty price to build this team.

I don’t have a problem with it either, trading resources isn’t the same as buying a team. If a team is willing to part with the draft picks, so be it.

Rams have the defense to shut down the Bengals. KC didn’t. Aaron Donald is gonna feast.

Looks like it's becoming a trend to me....the Bucs literally bought themselves a championship last year.

    This.

It is not some one off incident at all as I am seeing it. Expect more teams to do this in the future.

How’s that? Because they signed free agents? Teams every year shell out big bucks for players. There is a cap in this league, no one is buying championships and if a team wants to part with a ton of draft capital via a trade, at least they give up something to get something.

I guess its more of a game of "hop on the bandwagon"....you're right there is a salary cap so no one is buying themselves a championship in that sense....it just reminds me a lot of Deion Sanders hopping from the Cowboys to the Niners....or was it vice versa???

Problem is the Rams are heavily favoured.
I always hate betting on a heavy favourite. Too little reward for high risk.

Teams sign free agents every single off season. The Bucs didn't do anything different than other teams. They just happened to sign a very good free agent in Brady. Elite QB's don't leave their teams very often.

I could see Donald having 6 sacks.

I think that NFL telecast should bring in more crowd noise by miking the crowd and less Tony Romo, etc. to give us more of that “being there” feel. If you know football, the announcers are usually a detraction.

Let them try. The majority will slip up and fall short of the ring, then be in liquidation mode with no high picks for a couple of years and nothing to show for it. Hell, 2 weeks from now the Rams may have nothing to show for it (though I do think it’s better than 50/50 that the Rams finish it).

I agree. The Bucs took advantage of free agency and made the right moves at the right time, but a lot of they pieces of that roster were developed by the team. They didn’t trade away oodles of picks and mortgage the future like the Rams did.

    Exactly this.:this!:.
Only reason I'm rooting for the Bengals. Believe Me....it's not that I want the Bengals 2 win...it's I want the Rams 2 lose, and show You shouldn't build a team this way.
So I'm rooting for the Bengals by default. LoL
