Raiders players comments on Steelers defense

Its time to go to a 4-1-5 Monster....I stated it a few weeks back....I have watched the High School game evolve and now the NFL is going the same way...Lots of spread Offense ,lots of 1 RB sets,and lots of Zone blocking from the OL....

The 4-1-5 Monster is the most effective D against this type of Attack....It allows you to do a lot of stunting,slanting,and movement from the DL....It also gives you faster guys on the field who have better coverage skills to slow the passing game against TE'S and RB'S coming out of the backfield...

The wild card is the Monster guy,,as he is a Tweener type of guy ...A Guy who can play the run well,a guy who can blitz the passer, and a guy who can play above the line in zone coverage.....This allows you to move him all over the field,he can stack the A Gap with the LB,he can stack any other Gap along the line,he can play strong or weak side drop DE,he can press on any eligible WR or TE you need help with or chip RB'S coming out....And the beauty is while doing these things you have a cover/blitz option from him on any given play....This allows DB'S to do what DB'S do and play pass coverage, and tackle guys in space,it also allows DL to do what DL do best and thats beat up on OL and disrupt pass blocking and run blocking lanes....Unlike the Zone Blitz that puts DB'S blitzing resulting in weaker coverage,or puts DL covering which results in weaker coverage and leads to poor tackling in the open field...

I think Woodley would make a good Monster,but when Spence is Healthy he would make a great one IMO.....Of course Troy would be a good one but we have no one to play his spot IMO.....

 

Where is Lake in all of this with the playing 10 yards off the receiver?
