    Sad to hear.
    Someone mentioned Tim on this board a couple days ago. They said Bettis took Tim and his family to the pro bowl to show Jerome's appreciation for the great job he did.

    Lester was Bettis' blocking back in L.A. and Pittsburgh. Heck of a player. RIP.

    Sad news. I loved Lester and always thought he was the best FB we ever had here. RIP.:drinks::cool:

    Wow, that’s really sad. Lester and Krieder are the 2 players I think about first, when someone brings up FB’s.

    I think of Franco Harris, Merril Hoge, and John L. Williams, but I do get that you are talking about fullbacks that are just blockers 99 percent of the time. I miss seeing the Steelers with a dominant blocker at that position. Lester and Kreider provided that.

    Yes, exactly.... Pure blockers. Franco was in a completely different category.
