If anyone on here remembers him, it would be because of his years as a Brown in the early/mid 70s. I remember him as a Charger. When I was in junior high, he lived along my route to and from school. I would drop by his apartment sometimes, unannounced, and talk football with him. I wanted to be a linebacker when I got to high school. He didn't have to be nice to some dopey jr. high kid, but he was. He's also the biggest reason I switched loyalties from the Chargers to the Steelers. When Chargers traded him, I couldn't believe they would get rid of a former #1 pick! That was when I realized what the Mannings voiced years later. Chargers have no commitment to winning.
Though Babich was traded to Cleveland, I couldn't bring myself to root for that team. That's when I found the B&G!
