I wanted to name my son "Elway", figuring that nobody would have that as a first name. I was wrong. Instead the first dog got the name and my other dog is Ben.

My nickname growing up was Nertz. I thought I was the only one. One time at Boy Scout camp at Tionesta someone hollered Nertz. Me and another kid answered. Anyone within 30 miles of this board AKA Pittsburgh. who knew me can tell you my name just from this post

My son is named Ben because of well ya know. My wife also said that if we would have had another boy we could've named him Harrison. Since instead we have a girl on the way I didn't get to name it after a Steelers player. The first name is Natalie because that's what SHE wanted since I got to name Ben after a player. I know where you're at my friend with the battle of the name. It's REALLY lame trying to name a kid I think. I never knew it was gonna be that much of a battle.

Ava is one of THE top girls names right now. My wife thought about naming our little girl Avery but I think of that as a boy's name. One thing I hate these days is people naming their kids things that they consider to be "different" when in reality they are just what normal people consider to be "stupid". My mother in law is a nurse at Children's Hospital and she sees all these weird names. She actually saw a kid who was named Espn! That was the kids name! They pronounced it like "espin" but spelled it Espn! That's the most retarded thing I ever heard in my life. I also know a kid whose name is Volkswagen! Some people are just bad and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Nothing surprises me any more after some nimrod chose to go with 'Dick' Shiner over Richard.

Since my wife's kids and mine are already grown, we don't have this problem. So we named the dogs Rocky and Casey!
