I will also ask this. Am I correct when I say they did not make a decision to bench Kenny Pickett. If my memory serves me correctly I believe Pickett got injured.

Went and checked and KP got injured in week 13 and was gonna be out for 4 weeks. It was MT that got benched for MR. Fact is that if KP wasn’t injured we would have never seen MR. Moral of the story is that they benched a backup in favor of MR. MT had never had any upside. Circumstances was totally different, we were at the end of the season and fighting for a playoff spot. What would your solution be if RW goes in and gets us 2 losses? Would you want JF back in or Allen?

Moral of the story is. We should have tried Mason early. It's no coincidence that as soon as He started we started putting up almost 30 points a game after not doing it all year.

I can see it now if it happens. If Russell Wilson starts, and all of a sudden we start putting up more points.....certain people will make excuses. They probably already have them ready just incase.....something like.....Oh the schedule is easier, the coaches aren't keeping him in handcuffs, the line is magically better, or something....., but if it doesn't work....I will simply say.....I was wrong.

    Sort of

    He did get hurt

    And then he got healthy

And then they continued to play Mason

And at that moment he was benched

And we all know how well he dealt with that

I would not expect the same from Fields he seems to have a set of balls

Agreed. I don't think he's weak. I think He should just use it as a learning experience. Imagine if Terry Bradshaw had been that weak. People forget that He was benched, and came out of it the better.

Bradshaw was benched repeatedly for a few years

Noll said he thought Gilliam was more athletic Hanratty was smarter but he thought only Bradshaw could take them to the Superbowl

Exactly. He learned from it. He didn't put his tail between his legs, or roll over, and play at being a opossum . He let it fuel him.

This definitely wouldn’t be me, you will hear no complaints from me if we get a win, I don’t care if we win 30-0 or 3-0, as long as it’s a win and I don’t care who the QB is.

But we all know that if that does happen you will have a post ready to go right after the game ends to say you were right.

Like I keep saying I just feel like JF gives us a better chance and I stated the reasons. Just my opinion.

Yeah no. I will not. I didn't have a post ready after Mason started, and we scored 30 points, and I had been saying they should start him for over half the season last year. This may play into what You want to think about me, but it's not me. Don't believe me. Go look back to last year. It's not who I am. I just want the Steelers to do well. Nothing more ....nothing less.

I’m not ready to turn it over to Wilson just yet. Maybe next week depending on how today goes. @S.T.D it’s not about fear for me, it’s about seeing baby steps of progress with Fields and wanting to continue to allow the guy who might be in our future plans develop. I agree that the film shows him not seeing open receivers, and it frustrates me. I’m seeing positives though as well.

Let’s see how he does today.

I totally agree. I just don't want to wait until week 13 to decide if things don't change. That's all. I 100% hope He gets better every game.

Exactly. Fields isn’t winning this team a SB. That’s clear as day. If you contain Fields, he’s done and his turnovers will start to rise fast.
