Quick Question regarding Al Villanueva

Ravens fan here...I come in peace in the hope of clarifying the situation with Villanueva . As a former Army Ranger myself, I was really proud of his standing up for the singing of the anthem however I have read some confusing articles that seem to indicate that he has apologized for doing so. Can someone please explain to me what the situation really is.
Sunday's game should be a good one with both teams coming off of embarrassing losses altho the Ravens' loss was much more embarrassing...44 to 7 and the 7 was scored in garbage time with Mallet and not Falco at the helm.
