They look to be in the mix for the first pick or at least a very high pick. So they are unable to draft a QB due to Watson's contract or cut their losses and cut Watson

Watson carries a dead cap hit of 72 million in 2025 and 2026.

Would’ve been a waste of money. He should’ve handled his business a little better and he wouldn’t be getting blowback

Here’s an idea… get on your PlayStation and you can have whoever you want on Steelers as long as you stay under the cap

Cleveland gets a first round pick next year for the first time since 2021. They've currently got a total of eight draft picks, their originally owned selections in rounds 1-4 and 6, and an additional third and two sixth round picks from player trades.

Their options with Watson's contract are limited, but there's a chance they could get out of his guaranteed salary beginning this year if he were to be suspended by the league stemming from the latest sexual assault charge in September. All guaranteed salary contracts typically come with a host of voids for things like suspension from the league, non-football related injury, not showing up to practices or games, etc. The Browns waived a lot of those voids through 2023 because of the ongoing legal action when they acquired him that was likely going to result in suspension.

Thus the case filed in September presents an opportunity for them to get out from under the $92M in guaranteed salary in 2025/26, depending on how the case transpires (Watson has denied any wrongdoing) and if any conduct violations/suspensions are handed down from the league. That said, they'd still be looking at about $80M in dead money if they released him in the offseason even if they were able to get out of the guarantees (though they could opt to spread it out as $26.7M in 2025 and $53.6M in 2026 if they declare it as a post-June 1st release).

The dead cap hit will be at over 150 millions or something crazy like that in 2025 if they cut Watson after this year so it will not happen!
