Off topic question about jerseys and equipment. Does each team have a dedicated in-house supply of jerseys, so when a player decides to swap jerseys with an opponent, they just sew up a new one with their name and number? Do players pay for throwing their gloves into the stand? Do they get new uniforms each week, or are they actually laundered. What happens to old ones - probably be attractive to collectors. New shoes? (They need better cleats).

Must be a huge side business or expense for the teams.

I think all game gear is just that, game gear. Shoes get ripped and stuff I'm sure. I bet there is a guy who's job it is to "break in the shoes."

I think some of the stuff the NFL gets the tab for.
I think players get the tab for other things, like gloves.

Like, gloves are needed for the uniform, so players pocket.
Jerseys are NFL dictated, so they fit the bill. I bet there are things like "replaced if ripped" or "replaced if given away" stipulations for each of the NFL sanctioned stuff.

Then again this is a huge industry so who is to say there aren't 17 unique jerseys?!?

Obviously, just my thoughts without knowing.

This gave a bit of insight

Nike supplies teams with uniforms etc. it’s part of their deal with the nfl. Also why the uniforms have that stupid Nike swoosh on them. Back in the day Bobby Knight was paid something like 750k a year to wear Indiana gear with the Nike swoosh on chest

Thanks for the links. I always thought such a large team presented logistical challenges, but holy cow it is a complex endeavor.
