Jones traded traded for me. That's what I would like to see happen. Now what they do may be a completely different story.

Well all the interest is in Dobbs, we get the better trade value from Dobbs, so who wants him bad enough to give us a 2 pick???????????

Nothing personal, but I hope the Steelers don’t trade Jones for you.

    Can you play quarterback?

Why couldn't we or wouldn't we use the 54th roster spot on Dobbs? Who is more deserving? Also anyone know how bad OA hurt his hammy....why not just IR him for a few weeks until he's 100% then if need be once the dust has settled with the back up QB situation in the league, maybe then we sneak Dobbs onto the PS?

keep dobbs and mason i guess at this point. Landry isn't going to get any better. Dobbs has shown play making ability this preseason that makes me think we should keep him. Mason by default stays

I can't believe I am letting the last preseason game influence my decision but I can't help it after what I saw last night. Keep Dobbs.

I see Glenn as ILB material and perhaps emergency long snapper.

Mason isn't going anywhere. That kid is a player and the likely next starter after Ben retires. He showed me a lot last night in arm strength and ability to thread a tight pass. HE has some rough spots for sure, but they can be fixed (e.g., taking a snap).

I want to see Jones moved - not because I think he sucks as bad as many think, but because I think Dobbs has more upside in the long run and I think Jones might garner a better trade value than Dobbs (at least before last nights performance...Dobbs may have bought himself some interest).

I think Dobbs will be moved (and I don't like that because I really like the kid) - he goes either via trade or gets cut if no takers.

But the reality is, what is best for Dobbs career? The best he can hope for here is becoming the backup for rudolph after ben retires, if he gets traded he can possibly be a starter in in a year or two, the jags are interested and in a year or two he can beat bortels out as the starter there, or go to another team where he can at least have a shot at starting, he is a good kid who should at least get a chance to start on another team, and that chance seems remote here unless rudolph falls flat on his face as the starter, which is unlikely....

It all comes down to who has a greater degree of growth and development. That has always been the hallmark of the Steelers.

For me, that person is Joshua Dobbs. He has far greater potential to develop than what Landry is capable of. Landry has reached his limit. Dobbs is not even close to reaching his.

As I have said, assuming Big Ben goes down for a significant level of time, this season is lost anyway; playoff berth or otherwise. Why not go forth and observe what you have in a developing player in comparison to one who will be looking for a new team next season?

Dobbs has the potential to become something more. Landry is who he is at this point.

You can't get rid of Jones. Not this year. Does anybody remember the Eagles from last year? Jones is good enough to step in and win some games. I have no faith in the others to step in and win a big game.

He’s 3-2 as a starter and all his wins were against the Browns. He’s replaceable.

I'd say trade Jones. Nothing against the guy, I just don't think he's essential to the team, even as a backup right now.

If I make the call, I take the best trade offer for Landry or Dobbs. If we can get decent value for Jones- great. If I had to predict the future, I'd guess the team will cut Dobbs and hope he doesn't get picked up by someone else.

......because we're not a farm team for the rest of the league. The idea is to stockpile young talent not worrying about their future and fit with other teams. LJ is gone or 3rd string to Rudolph next year. Wouldn't we rather have 2 young guys who are promising. What if Rudolph gets hurt next year or the following year or however long we still control Dobb's future... What I don't understand is now you are saying he can start for someone in the league but in the past you were basically saying Dobbs wasn't that good. LJ couldn't find a suitor to make him a starter in the league but now we should be looking to get rid of a promising young QB ,who according to you has a chance to start somewhere else...

I would risk cutting him hoping no one grabs him rather than settling for a 7th round pick

The highest offer for Dobbs or Jones will be the scenario. However, I hope they will trade Jones.
